i like minigames when they don't intervene with the flow, for example in a party setting it can be fun
I agree. The hate for mini games generally comes from most of them being used to make the game super grindy.

Minigames are another "absolute no."
And we find common ground :)
Aaaaand you both lost me on that one, I actually quite like minigames, then again I play avn's and the like for the story and gameplay, the spicy scenes are just a bonus.
Anyone else browse itch.io for adult games? That’s where I found Eternum, Ripples, Fresh Women, and My Bully My Lover. What’s cool is seeing even casual or more mainstream players rate them highly.

Steam, on the other hand, feels pretty dry. There are way fewer realistic-looking visual novels. Basically just Being A DIK, plus Desert Stalker, Leap of Faith, and Fresh Women at the top. Compared to that, itch.io feels like heaven.
Gog is getting up there for adult games lately, just wish their process for adding them to their platform was easier, they take a long ass time to approve them supposedly. I think it was lockheart that pointed that out to me.
Also, why does everyone’s top 5 here always seem packed with recent AVNs? Do people just not remember Dating My Daughter anymore?
I prefer Melody and Sunshine Love over DMD, Thief Of Hearts is so-so, graphics wise it's better but story wise it feels like dots phoned it in
Okay but do iphones kill their battery life and lock up/restart more often intentionally? I know that's the conspiracy theory but man... it's so prevalent of a theory for a reason it seems.
Not a conspiracy, pretty sure they were sued and got fucked by the EU because of it, I didn't really like apple before that because of the closed ecosystem, but after reading that they were doing that I flat out refuse to buy any of their products or even recommend them to anyone.
Yes. "It's hard to see how done my stuff is in there with all the steam".
Why are people like this???

That's fair, I'm a bit of a completionist when it comes to games and I think my distaste for minigames is where I have to take a considerable break from the main gameplay to play a puzzle or card minigame for an hour that feels like it was made in 15 mins :3 Or when its like 'mash this button x times to do this basic action' instead of just showing it <3

ohh haven't heard that one in awhile. It is generally just recency bias. Newer games are easier to remember so stick around more in head for top 5s. Also renders and animations getting better with time puts some out, I think. I generally go for great story but not everyone is that way.

Lack of natural selection common knowledge. Problem is, there is more and more common knowledge that is needed, but less initiatives to pass it on.
After all, radiation and electricity are "invisible" until it's to late.

DmD was great for when it was... but going back to it the renders just turn me off. Same with Ecchi Sensei.

Mini-games can be fun if you find a good one, which, I’ll admit, is pretty rare. Still, check out Aurelia. It’s a standout, and does a great job blending mini-games with adult content.
There's no such thing as a good one. Minigames are in the "absolutely do not" for me. It should be a tag so they can be filtered out.

Same! Thats why I dont look at Koikatsu, Honey Select and similar based games anymore, Story may be good and fun, but animations and character faces and models are so boring and tiring.

That's my point doesn't bother me but renders getting better makes some people just dismiss older games. I definitely enjoyed it. I haven't gone back but I can see how it affects the overall consensus. Start going the route of modern video games and see remakes of classics.

I don't mind if the story is great, you miss out on stuff like now & then and once in a lifetime if you go by those criteria.

Yeah, that may be true, but there just so much games(and other stuff to do) and so little time, so you physically unable to check every "good" game, you have to set up some criteria to limit your choice. Mine are graphics and fetishes, so I dont play games with heavy focus on rape, NTR or stuff like physiology deviations(scat, inflation, or guro).
And even then i miss some nice games.

It's so interesting how so many people talk with absolute statemens.
Maybe I'm simple minded, but I if it looks fun, I try it out. Even if it takes weeks till my laziness yields the ol' horny.

I completely understand that. So much stuff to do so lite time lol. Graphics are only getting better and better.

There are fore sure too many good games to get around to all of them :3 I'm personally unbothered by the graphics of h-games tho, I care 95% about the writing and if there are some of my fave fetishes present <3
Sounds like I search for the exact games that you avoid tho (minus scat) so not sure how much crossover we have, when youre into extreme stuff the selection of games gets alot smaller :3

Sis, you’d hate The Witcher 3. The card mini game Gwent is basically a third of the entire game.

I see, you're trying out the incest roleplay route now.

I didn't love Witcher 3 too much, but I actually enjoyed Gwent, they put enough effort that it didn't feel tacked on to the game but an actual part of it :) Kinda the same caveat I gave to immersive sims having good minigames alot of the time (even if Witcher 3 isn't an immersive sim) <3
