Wow. Well, if you do look for the real ones with soft shell and sliced beef rather than hamburger. Way better. Hard to find here and Mexican food isn't hard to find in the US except maybe in places where hardly anyone lives (fast food doesn't count)

never seen a sliced beef taco in my life, we have shawarma here that is middle eastern type of taco with sliced chicken or lamb/beef that's slow roasted on a vertical spit.

They're quite good. Some nice sliced carne asada, a splash of lime, maybe a little pico de gallo, fantastic.
There's also Tacos al Pastor, which is meat on a spindle (like shwarma or gyro or kebab meat in other parts of the world). Excellent if you can find it in your area.

There were (not sure if still are) chocolate ice cream things called "Cho Chos." I high school I said the idea of one called "Chochas" (Spanish for pussies) and that's what they'd taste like. A friend said they wouldn't sell well because only straight men and lesbians would want and I was like "that's a lot of people..."
