Getting all philosophical up in here, on the other hand would that not just be a dick with no body? Considering the tree is the body and the leaf is attached to it?

Yes, I an recommend Western Digital. For smaller hard drives the red series is great, for bigger hard drives the enterprise ones like hc50 are great. Best ones (safest) are hdds that never shut down, it minimizes wear and tear.

Thats what killed my 3 disks I think. Seagate Green Power or something - probably related to turning them off/on constantly.

Yes WD drives are be least my self too to most durable. Every other brands specially looking you Seagate. Lots more broken disks. And in older history samsung HHD disks was very bads

I've got WD nvme's in my rig at the moment, and a WD red platter drive for onboard storage.

I'm thinking of buying a refurb/recert high capacity drive for some bulk storage, but prices are a bit higher than I'd like right now. There were some 24TB Seagates (240$) on sale back around Xmas I waffled about for too long and missed out on. And they have a new 26TB external for 280$ on sale right now...

Don't see any great deals on WD mass storage at the moment. 14TB referb for 200$, meh.

I am SO glad I decided to upgrade my PC after the election. At the time it was just over worries about Tariffs causing prices to spike. Wasn't the best time for an upgrade, bit of an awkward spot in the generational cycle, but whatever, I got it done.

I looked the other day and the RAM kit I bought for 220$ is now almost 1200$. Fucking hell.

(Plus my electric bill has almost doubled because of the friggin' data center they plopped onto the farmland north of town, bleh)

I wish I was this forward thinking. I tried to build myself a PC this holiday season as a little christmas gift to myself, and I was shocked at the outrageous prices! Especially the ram. Lets just say I'm typing this on a labtop . . .

yeah the prices of most pc parts have fucking sky rocketed but apps like tabby are life savers for broke asses like me lol, i just recentely bought a new 32gb ram and a 5080 :>

yeah and now also the prices of gpus are gonna increase by a good bit because nvidia is gonna halt production for their current gpus to work on their next ones.

so yeah get what u want soon before the prices get more annoying again

i would say build a desktop, but with these ram prices, dont build a desktop lol

I built my desktop around a year ago, only put 2 sticks of RAM in, said id just get the other 2 later.... I regret it, badly
