I don't mean grammar or how fast they get to lewd, but the dialogue itself. What and how the characters talk can kill the immersion. Sorry to vent, but found one that I love the premise and they are killing me in the dialogue.

Such a common problem with a lot of stories, where you can just feel that the author is trying to talk to you directly, rather than having two characters talk to one another.
