One thing that has made me drop games is too much story, story is good, but some games try to be some kind of fiction masterpiece that try to explain why some character is a super perverted deviant.
First of all, it's a silly, ill-conceived plot. For me, an example of this is “23 Sisters.”
And as a result, the characters are flat and underdeveloped, which kills the engagement with what's going on, and how can you associate yourself with a character whose stupidity is off the charts?
Graphics are somewhere in third or fourth place for me. That's why text-based games don't scare me. I love to read
If I expect it to be grindy, I don't touch it. Generally, if I expect it to contains sth that annoys me, I avoid the game. The only thing that is still borderline is reused models from other games and I have been tending to avoid those too. Never could get into DMD because I was tired of seeing the blonde
Lots of internal dialogue. It's annoying as fuck. And nobody is playing these games to read like the equivalent of like 12 goddamn novels before a sex scene.
