Games straight to point or games you have to grind?

I tend to play RPGM games, so I suppose I like grinding. Unless the game is some sort of free-use or sandbox, then it would be straight to the point.

So grinds are good... I find it gets extremely frustrating and worst.. boring if games over do it.

Straight to the point is fun for pure porn play. Gameplay becomes important if the game aims at being something more than just porn and it can increase the fun if done right. Taking it slow, getting to know the girl before conquering her feels natural.
However, grinding is the opposite of fun and doing repetetive, boring tasks just to increase some stupid stats doesn't feel natural and totally breaks the immersion. And turns the game into a chore. Grinding to increase some meaningless numbers has about as much sex appeal as working on an excel sheet to optimize some numbers.

I prefer my visual novels to kind of get straight to the point. If I want to grind my day away and do a bunch of
repetitive bullshit, I'll play World of Warcraft. Just sayin'.

I don't parasitically enjoy the grind in and of itself but i enjoy a slower burn where you have to corrupt and seduce the desired target rather than just get them with a few lines of unrealistic cheap sentences.
The more realistic and harder it is, the more motivating it is to get what you want and the more i enjoy it.

straight to the point every time I dont wanna spend too much time not getting what im here for

I basically want to know who is involved and see how we got here. Sandboxes are almost always where I close out the vn/game because I don't care that much about what happens after I spend hours trying to figure my way through a maze. And replaying scenes over and over is boring and daunting to rehash when you lose your saves. People keep saying that if you don't want to grind watch porn... What do they think I'm trying to do? This is supposed to be porn! Just with a story that you can view at your own speed and sometimes chose what happens in the story or skip a scene or LI you don't care for. I want the setup AND the payoff. Most devs don't give the players what they want, trying to keep them coming back in the hopes that it will finally happen and BOOM! The abandoned tag is applied. Hardly any games have an actual satisfying ending, so in my opinion, devs should make short stories that have an introduction, progression of events (enough to build tension and be interesting, but not a bunch of rabbit trails and derails that totally change the story line), climax (a few times at least), and a conclusion.

SSP is a good example of something good that went on too long. There's a happy medium and people tend to know what it is.

A little grind is fine, but getting stuck for days just to progress? That’s just frustrating.

Grind in the mechanics sense or in the narrative sense? No to the former (which is why I dislike most trainers) but you need some narrative progression and escalation

I hate grinding but if I wanted a straight to the point game than I'd watch porn. There has to be some gameplay or cool off period between scenes.

theres one game that is a 3d map sandbox with no story, just goin about. that was one i really enjoyed, so i guess games that are straight to the point...ish

When its rewarding and balances out, the grind is good but other than that, straight to the point for me with a slight build up

mix of both, i dont mind a bit of grind as long as it doesnt make me do works inside the game just to get 10$ per work shift

I like grinding in corruption games as long as i'm rewarded along the way, for example i hate when you grind the same repeat scene's over and over in a lot of RPGM games but as long as there are some variations then the grind gives a the feel the your working to corrupt the character which is fun and lends more to the realism. If its a harem or Maledom VN for the most part i like to get straight to the point i'm not exactly reading a power fantasy for the engaging plot, i've got a "mission":sneaky: and i don't want to read a drama during it.

I love sandbox games and, accordingly, I'm not afraid of grinding. First of all, unlike VNs, sandbox games are real games, not imitations of games. True, they can vary. Let's take two recently updated games as examples. 1. Bright Past. The game is almost complete (only bug fixes will be released), there is grinding here, but we have a built-in hint system at our disposal, plus, importantly, a good storyline and 11 alternative endings.
2. Ring of Lust. Grinding for the sake of grinding. There are so many bugs that on your first attempts to play through the game on your own, you will surely run into a soft lock. There are no hints. There is a walkthrough, but it is extremely poorly written, so players periodically encounter soft locks even when playing with the walkthrough. Seven years after development began, the developer realized that something was wrong and began to essentially remaster the sandbox (which had grown to gigantic proportions over the years) into a visual novel. Apparently, he never learned how to create normal sandboxes. In addition, it is unclear how he will finish the plot, since there is no end in sight for the main story. The game is now in its eighth year of development.

The middle one between the grind and the get go, I still want to see the action but without gameplay, it's just like watching animated porn.

Some gameplay is necessary, but grindiness in Hgames has always been a dumb concept to me
