Cynist, I'd really like to be able to play this with shota on and gay (including all biological boys) off. In other words, I want to see all the boy/girl scenes without doing things with the boys myself. Can you please make that possible?

Yeah. Just say no when asked if you want to enable gay/shota content. The gay/shota flag is set very early when first talking to Kelly. You are still going to see Kelly with his sister, it will just not have the MC doing anything with any boys.

There is also a trans option later that enables MC-trans content (basically with Leslie). Saying no on this flag does not mean there won't be content with Leslie at some point, it just won't be with the MC.

There is a point in 0.8 where you can enable the shota/trans flag which will allow content between the two, however they both need to be set as "true" to have an option. I may put in an option later, depending on how the story plays out.

That isn't an error code from the scripts. It might be a corrupt download? Some wires are crossed somewhere.

Appreciate the response, I'll retry downloads. But I have tried the links you provided a few posts back (both mac and win), and the OP links (pc since its updated). 2x for all of them. I'll try again. Thanks.

If I had a dozen people saying they had the same error, then it would be important to find the issue. However, no one else has mentioned this issue, so the only guess I have is some kind of issue on the download/install process.

I've tried it in the past, and it makes me miss things. I just want a path with everything besides blowjobs and penetration basically. I also want my childhood friend to be involved with his sister but not with me. I don't want to ignore the boys, I just don't want to suck or fuck them. But I want to see all the sholi available, especially bro/sis relationships. Basically, just add a gay variable to cut right before those scenes. I always have to edit the code myself and it really diminishes the enjoyment when I have to spend so much time instead of just playing the game. I also don't like to be forced into calling a boy a girl. Biology is real mate.

I just replayed it both ways, and if you don't choose shota then the bathroom scene with the twins is nuked. So no, not choosing shota isn't what I'm looking for. I want him to be jacking off around the place and showing it to his sister where I can see it.

If you want something different, I'd encourage you to make it yourself. It's what I eventually had to do.

I think there are better games out there than Libertine. The Curse of the Developer exists. I can't "use" my own stuff. I have to play other games.

However, I also firmly believe a writer/developer cannot create something they don't inherently feel deeply... something they don't love through and through without failing miserably.

They're not fighting words so much as the truth. No one can write your perfect story except for you... but understand that developing is a whole other fucking world.

Putting in a thousand checks for what exactly everyone that ever plays this game wants to exactly see and not see is an effort in futility. The game is made the way it is. Again, my apologies it doesn't live up to your wants. I can't please everyone, so I have to please myself.

Burned is AMAZING but it's also just this side of "23 Sisters" crazy in it's own extremely fun way. The story is heart warming sure, but that craziness just takes too much away.

IA 2.. is.. blah.. no thanks. I get it has a huge fan base, but I'm not one of them.

PGI and Found in Translation have no males. And even once PGI has a trans character in it, you'll still have way more variety than I can add to it due to the audience.

And you forgot Sibling Delights which has both and is a pretty good game, but it's no Burned which I've already said is no Libertine.

Sorry, but you've cornered the market on sweet stories that have a good variety of gender identities and are enjoyable by someone who is pansexual.

I think I have a problem, or I don't know if it's supposed to be that way, but at a certain point there are no more animations. When a scene starts, the image stays static but the text works fine. And in the sex scenes, the screen goes black, and then goes back to normal when the sex ends, as if some video files were missing or weren't playing. If anyone knows anything about this, I hope you can help me.

Thank you for answering my question. Just in case, the animations stopped working for me on June 17 in the game. I don't know which update this corresponds to because it's the first time I've downloaded the game. From then until the end of the current content, no animations are played. Other than that, I really liked the game. I never downloaded it before because Koikatsu doesn't really appeal to me, but I was surprised. Great job, bro. I hope you keep it up.

Honestly, I fell in love with the origin story of this VN: A surprise job promotion, leading to a much more fulfilling role and returning to a familiar town to start a new life. The aesthetic of the town is quite nice too--small, simple, slowed down, nostalgic. Far from perfect, to be sure, with crime and poverty spoiling the charm, but you do come into the town with a chance to make a difference. If we tweak out the "problematic" elements that were put there to make it a good fantasy story and stick with just stick with what would work in a real-life scenario, like improving the park, basketball court, playground, etc. and providing a community center for everyone to enjoy, I could see it as something to imagine yourself wanting to be part of in reality.

That being said, the fantasy side of the story is also very appealing. You aren't forcing or corrupting anyone, in fact trying to stay conscious of not doing that. The pacing is good, and there is a lot of variety in the characters. It's high on my list of titles that I look forward to seeing updated.

I was having a similar issue so I poked around a bit and extracted the rpa files, I think the video files for 08 and 09 might just be missing, the last file in the "anim" folder is labelled 07_08

Yes, that is what happened. I'm making a new update and will have it posted here soon.

In regard to the black screens, I poked around in the scripts and discovered that some pictures were treated as sprites with show used instead of scene.
