so now @CrypticWonders you have know idea what the ideas are behind the scene and you probably never will, if Heisenberg wanted to he could just make the entire site closed off with a 5$ monthly fee to stay in, be glad this is not an idea that he is going with, as for "chances of getting donations" again this is further from the truth, the real reason stuff changed is because he is starting from ranks pricing to coins gained to equal everything out, because the old pricing list made 0 sense.

when did i say that, nothing = $$$$ the only thing that = cash are the idiot devs who think they can charge way over the price of something to get it fixed & they didn't even know what the fuck they were talking about in the first place, case and point is the images i fixed on the latest updates page, he said it was because of js issue but it was about perm view issue in the config file of the addon.

we announced changes weeks ago, we are gathering feedback since. You probably know that, you just don't like

keep in mind that most staff members have millions or billions of coins earned by activity alone. The only difference is that we have the responsibility to care for the site

I mean at this point it is beyond obvious that they are trying to make changes simply for the potential to increase the chances of getting donations for Coins.

The people trying to make fair changes and suggesting them don't even know how much the site gets in donations, they never see that money. It could not be far from the truth. Sadly, I don't think you would believe in any other reason

They know that the people with that many coins will never ever have to consider buying DC or PC since anything that is ever added to the store they will always instantly afford and that bothers them to no end,

so you're saying that people with insanely high passive income bypass the entire system without using the site and can make other users bypass too?
than I ask you, how much do you really care about the site? or you still think that the barrier is because of money, not because we had to jump from host to host because of reports exactly because a random group could see everything?

At least have the stones to say the real reason for wanting to nerf the shit outta coins instead of a bs inflation excuse, and you know this announcement was a mass DM so there wouldn't be another thread full of replies calling them out on this shit

we keep repeating and repeating, but you say we're lying, and it's because of money. When we have no idea how this would increase donations. People that use activity coins don't donate and never will, changing how hard or how easy it's to get ranks with activity wouldn't force them to donate. We added buff on coins based on areas to let people get more on activity instead of passive income, we had suggestions of changing to ranks instead of areas, so far this is actually the only real feedback we had besides "please give more free coins".

I know you guys don't have any responsibility to care for the website, but we kinda have, even if we don't get anything in return besides direct attacks for no reason

I’ve tried to keep my few comments on it constructive, but I get how having so many people piling on can be too much. I’m not against changes, I think the sudden and reactive back and forth gives the impression to most people that the changes are a bit arbitrary.

Giving some notice of coming changes and reasons with opportunity for constructive feedback (with mods enforcing a thread to keep them constructive) might work better for buy-in on rolling out the more major changes.

well thank you, that's exactly my point. We try to be open to feedback, but some people are completely aggressive for no reason. So even having 5 to 10 people being cool and actually trying to help, having 2 or 3 screaming random insults because they want to feel better still affect us

and that's something the entire staff agrees, we don't like to change things, and we don't like to do without announcements. And it's not like we have weekly meetings and agree to change shit, some things are out of our control and some things are even out of the owner's control

I wanted to open a thread and let people speak how they want to have the system, but they would end up saying to remove any barriers even from P5, because it would benefit the majority of the users, even if it costs the website.

The only bad part about giving suggestions is it's either too much work or can't be done due to X plugin not supporting it or you guys just don't have a PHP developer to make a custom plugin for the site. (not saying anything bad about the staff, it's just something I've seen happen a lot. you guys are trying your best with the stuff you have already)

I mean, yeah, the interest based on how much you have would be so cool. But customizing this addon is dangerous, I was strongly against because I fear corrupting a database table and making people lose their coins. The last thing I want is to remove things people paid for. But of course we could just add random code and pray for the best like some people suggest, I just won't be part of this

Why wouldn't you just take the current DB and site for a local version and test all of the changes.. that way you'd find bugs or issues before it reaches prod... then there would be no worry about that.

A really good idea imo. If it’s possible to set it so each user can pick up to five badges to show on their posts from everything they got from the boxes/ranks, could be a potentially unlimited amount to have in loot boxes to eat up extra coins. I’d want to collect them all lol

Why wouldn't you just take the current DB and site for a local version and test all of the changes.. that way you'd find bugs or issues before it reaches prod... then there would be no worry about that.

usually is exactly what I do, I don't deploy changes to production without testing the best I can. But this one would be a lot of work, but not that much, but as you may know we are volunteers here, and I have my IRL work to do, I tried my best to put the site in the right course this week as I had some free time. But I won't have that much free time so soon, and if I have I'll probably need to test and fix the LU page and the other themes. Some people send us messages asking "but you have a lot of people in the staff, no one has time?" and the answer is no, we are all really busy with IRL or with other areas of the site. I mean, the site works, I fixed most bugs people reported, the new things were fixed by drakkon, the games are being updated, the loli games are back and maintained, mime is working hard on contests.
Honestly, things are working fine, and I like this. The bank system will be decided by the owner or someone he trusts, the entire staff agreed on something, but people don't want to accept and he didn't like the feedback, so now it's on his hands. The rest should be fine

maybe if we could limit or make them keep swapping so we could have a lot. But I'd have to test this in all themes...

Of course we have a rough idea how much it gets in donations if we were to track it, we see a banner almost weekly at the top of the site asking for more donations with a progress bar of the goal and how much has been sent in towards that goal

i wouldnt trust that donation goal thing to save my life, it is hand coded and its not connected to any api so the goal and amount are set by the owner and most times he just leaves it as is (more or less cause its a chore to mess with it not because he wont but because its sloppy coded.
