not gonna lie the fact that dev had to redo everything from scratch is annoying but this is deffinately worth waiting for
Why remaking everything? I couldn't find anything wrong with it before. Please tell me it's not yet another AVN that's getting aged up.Nope not abandoned. Still working on re-making all the scenes again, It's just taking longer than expected due to RL delays. Including the fact that my wife wanted to go to the cottage for a week for her birthday, and we ended up being gone for 9 days. lol
No, read upthread. TLDR Shaddy had a drive die with the images for this update, and the backup didn't backup so he is working on redoing the images. Is it abandoned too?
Wow! That completely sucks to lose ALL of that work. It's a reason I don't like mechanical HDDs anymore, but then again, SSDs are not 100% reliable either. Hopefully we'll develop technology like isolinear chips or some other means of data storage to keep our stuff safe. It'd be nice to have something stable. Just sayin'.No, read upthread. Nothing is. Nothing CAN BE - if you want to be able to delete from it. No moving parts is about as good as it's going to get anytime soon.SSDs are not 100% reliable either.
Very true. I just hope that the Dev can recover (if possible) and continue on with his VN.Nothing is. Nothing CAN BE - if you want to be able to delete from it. No moving parts is about as good as it's going to get anytime soon.![]()
The universe hates organised data. There will never be a storage tech 100% reliable. Clay tablets can only be read after 5000 years (with some jigsaw puzzle solving) because they are huge for the data stored and the trend for economic reasons is to make the bits smaller, which just makes them even more unreliable. The spinning rust bits in HDD's are already down to 50 or so atoms and not much bigger for the cells in SSD's, the trend of which is not to make the cells smaller, that's pretty much already at it's physical limit, but more voltage levels/data in the same cell (up to 4 now), which makes them more error-prone and harder to read.Wow! Well at this point probably play now cause you don t know when update will comeSo do yall recommend downloading now or waiting for the next update. Definitely gonna watch this thread tho
Fair enough. You’ve convinced meWell at this point probably play now cause you don t know when update will come![]()
Personally I use Backblaze + local of the important stuff (which Daz assets worth several thousand $ would qualify). I think he mentioned he used similar on SS but for some reason he wasn't connected to the remote servers and didn't notice until after he tried to restore from the remote backup that wasn't there.Well i honestly don t understand why he didn t have backup on different drive as he should. You always should have backup and probably backup of the backup.
Yeah it does make sense that you have that as backup. Its just logical. As for dev...so in other words he wasn t paying attention and didn t took appropriate steps to have proper backup and now he or we are punished cause of it. Such is life. Usually laziness or ignorance punish us all at some pointPersonally I use Backblaze + local of the important stuff (which Daz assets worth several thousand $ would qualify).
