But then I downloaded "Acting Lessons" some years ago, and I wanted to KMS. I also recently checked out "A Foreign World," and I'm really liking the story.

I guess if I had a gun to my head and had to choose one, give me the story. I do roll my eyes at the trope-y stories ("Oh, hey, look, another game with a massage." "Oh, hey, trying on three sets of clothes." etc), but if done right I really enjoy the tropes.

The black best friend, yeah.

I don't remember which game it was, but there was one that used the same black guy model that made references to the other games that used that model. "Acting Lessons" being one, and I don't remember what the other one was. "Dating My Daughter," maybe? Whichever game it was, he made mention that he was a triplet, and then described the other two games. It was a nice little third-wall break.

But the biggest betrayal was that final choice of the game. A or B. That game tore me up.

Usually for the mechanics of the game. If a game has things like character customization I'll come back to it time and time again, whereas a bunch of remade renpy VNs can be finished in half an hour and leave you wanting.

For me, the most important thing is the plot and well-written characters. Everything else is secondary. For example, in one of my favorite VNs, The Entrepreneur, the first sex scene happened at the end of the third hour of gameplay. As for sex, porn is very accessible nowadays, and real people are always more interesting than digital models.

Thats pretty intersting point of view, you could basically rip out the porn aspect and still have a functioning game, kinda like Blacksouls or something
