wasn't the hole point about lelouchs plan, not to put the world under one leader, because that would always end in power abuse. therefore it is impossible to unite the world under one leader.
I do get your point but that would be a whole different anime to me.
I loved code gease for finishing what they started. after 3 to 6 episode my head was like yeah if he wants to finish his plan he needs to rule hated by the people and then die and so on. with as little as 3 to 5 fuck ups he consequently completes his plan. i love code gease for consequently sticking to it.

Light Yagami was dumb I would have just wrote the name of the entire police roaster and make them kill L then commit suicide once they are meeting him.
Just wipe the stupid fool he made his successors....I won't even use death note like him I will be killing a lot of people who I believed done something to the games I loved.

I believe the point of Death Note was that Light was kinda a dumbass. His arrogance and short sightedness in regards to how he went about his long term goals is why he ended up catching suspicion from L. He was a horribly arrogant prick with no social skills who believed he was a god. What cleverness he had he used to dig his hole deeper
