Suppose it helps when people get to know you a bit. But it's only mu first day so I dunno.

Honestly, just gotta do tha math for the newbs:
If you post something that ppl will react to (pos/neg) and don't act like a turd (whining about costs or yelling about crap), you'll get 7+32 per post (4 reacts) easily from backreaders. So 20 separate posts (like 6-7 over 3 days) gets Mem+, and 60-70 posts over a week or 2 gets you Prestige 1 (which includes Mem+ if you can wait). More reacts (ppl are entertained or engaged with your posts more) will accelerate these. Prestige 1 lets you react with no cooldown, so more ppl see you reacting to their stuff: this makes them more likely to react to your stuff in the future.
