I have played some html games. They appear to universally use Twine. Even though most use 'real porn' as a large part (or all) of the porny images, I find them acceptable. They usually have more mechanics and management type stuff than Ren'Py games (there are exceptions in both camps). I like them for the ability to mod them (change rules, cheat, change stats like age names etc) since they're not in a compiled state. yes, I can decompress and decompile Ren'Py games, and I have, but the html games are usually open and easy for me to change out of the box.

So i updated my Daz3D install today.. when i went to run a simulation it said it needed to a recompile before it could start and that it would take several mins to do... so i clicked yes and it was done recompiling in less than a second... This is how it feels!!!

Ahh, well, at least you're going through some of it, but after 10 months, it maybe time to look for other mods to use?

Yeah - I've moved on from those, but the way he did mods fucks up the saves AND the persistent, and you have to either replay the VN or use his "save fixer". Unfortunately, it doesn't really repair anything permanently and you have to go into each VN you played with one of his mods, install the save fixer, advance each save a few slides, re-save each, and then you can install a different WT mod if you like. The first one I did this on that updated while I was playing was University of Problems, so I grabbed the new update after finishing the old, and instead of being able to just load and play, I had to go through that same set of steps again. So, for any VN that wasn't near completion, I'll do this at every release until it's done unless I want to replay every save and try to remember every nuance of each path on my way back through. I think I have at least five or six other VNs that are "in the middle" and one at its end, but about to do the epilogues (Chasing Sunsets), so I'm just going to wait for the epilogues and do it then - already had to completely replay once when they changed the RenPy engine, don't want to do it again on the final release and epilogue.

He deliberately wrote his stuff to be incompatible with anything anyone else did. He could do a great mod, but he was a bit full of himself, and now that he's out of the picture it's taken away a lot of the fun of this little pastime when it becomes "work" to pick up and play your VNs.

I don't want to get into specifics but someone really important to me died
I'm in my 20s and so were they
they've been part of my life for most of it and I was expecting to have them in my life for most of the rest of it so this has been extremely hard on me
