Correct. AI is making it easier to produce Illustrations, yet the author still needs talent to create a good game.

Honestly, I don't even mind AI art that much, and I don't mind when developers and artists use it as a tool if it helps them churn out updates faster and it keeps the same spirit. My main problem is the fact that almost every AI game looks exactly the same and they're mostly cash grabs with very little effort put into them.

With AI art being in full swing and flooding every image sharing site, it feels like so much of the soul is lost in a sea of art that everyone can instantly read as AI art? That the soul and talent is just missing from the AI art and I just dismiss it outright. Very rarely have I seen AI art and ever felt any arousal from it.

AI made the barrier of entry of entry level art much higher, and building on current artist's years of hard work infinitely easier. Since porn consumers generally dont care about ethics (in general), one can see that this leads to a massive influx of art which would have been considered very good quality Pre-SD, to now actual style to be looked forward to. If you look at sad panda, some AI generations are actually very good but since there are only 1-2 out of every 10 and the 8-9/10 posts usually have 10x the images, we're kind of just saturated with it. This trend will get worse before it gets better, and real art will actually likely be considered more valuable.

My own prediction is that we'll go back to unique and weird art and icons that AI can generate but will be ignored much more easily in the sea of beautiful AI art.

It just looks terrible in 99,9% of the times.
AI used right can be an incredible support tool for images, audio, video, etc. and the keyword here is SUPPORT because most people think they can just use it to do everything for themselves and they're done which is why we see so much lazy AI shit on the internet.

Getting better by the day, really shines in speed, ideas and intricate details. I personally love to see great side characters in pixiv, that would otherwise never be drawn cause they don't get the views. Same with exotic kinks. Obscure game characters list goes on.

Look ai art flooded the market and people were happy with anything ai, but give it some time and it’ll be held to the same standard as original art porn games. If it looks good and has a good story, it’s a good game whether it uses ai or not. We should be happy that people with good story skills now have art to create their games. I do think tags are important giving ai or artist credit

My personals stance is also against the use of AI in all directions.
Probably I'm just an old fart that shouts at clouds, but to this day I'm not convinced that AI will be helpful in a general manner in the long run.

I agree, but unfortunately we are moving towards the point where there will be more and more AI in games.

there is one game that i really liked for the plot and characters man they ended up using ai cg's to aid in faster episode release that imo dropped the quality

The worst kind of AI games are the reskinned clicker games, like from TapTapLegends.
I really wonder how they could rake in so many patreons with that kind of slob. There is absoltely no effort except the initial framework.
