Hello lurkers! 👋

Yep, that one has just been banned on Steam for the UK.
Sad that -- No Mercy is a fine game with wonderful artwork.

I like to be accompanied when I go looking for mushrooms in the forest (otherwise I get scared ;) )
There are very few BBWs out there these days so you are probably safe but I can be convinced to be a forest guide (That's Big Bad Wolfs NOT Big Beautiful Women)

either. I miss simple old games and its all ive been playing

Well, I'm sure you've already heard of Doom and Quake unless you're pretty young (don't worry, not going to ask).

There's also Hexen, Rise of the Triad: Dark War, Blood, Duke Nukem 3D, Marthon, Shadow Warrior, Redneck Rampage...

Hello nostalgia.

I'm not sure how many (if any) of these games are available but hopefully some names can get you started.

I remember Rise of the Triad quite fondly because it released while I was still very young and my Dad, who was very open to me playing violent video games even at that age due to my nightmares and night terrors - thinking games of the time like Doom could be a positive influence (which they were, for me) because you're literally fighting demons and monsters - hesitated with Rise of the Triad because the enemies in that game can surrender and you can choose to kill them anyway, unarmed and defenseless.

He took the time to explain why he was holding back for a while with that one, and then we played it together and I remember the first time I shot one of the characters after they surrendered. All he did was ask me why I did it. "..they would have just tried to hurt me again." is what I told him and it made him smile. He told me later that the reason he smiled was because I thought about it, weighed the consequences, and chose to keep myself safe.

As far as modern retro "style" games are concerned, I'd have to do more research. Beyond AVN's with my wife and game time with my kids I don't really have a lot of time to game myself anymore so I'm not in the loop there. Feel free to DM me your interests or mention here anything I can use to try and dial-in some recommendations for you though because I'm more than happy to help.

Oh hell yeah Shadow Warrior, Absolute Classic! I actually loved the new games too (1+2, didn't play 3 yet), they catch the spirit and the humor of the old one quite nicely

For retro games there are a few i know and think are good: (yeah some are a few years older, but not anywhere as old as to count as something to bring back as retro themself)

- classic look but modern game, it screams nostalgia.
- modern classic, can be played peaceful or as a dungeon exploring fighting game with some farming on the side ... and it has love interests!
- sidescroller-survival-dungeon/cave-explorer
- like Terraria, just sci-fi
(Didn't play much Terraria so it could be the same as Starbound in that regard, but the latter gets quite repetetive later and difficulty is a tad annoying high, so i am not the biggest fan, but that might be just me being shite at it)

Cooking? That was a cooking question? Really?
I thought he was talking about the wildfires in Greece in 2007 - I remember thinking at the time that the ancient Gods were playing with puns Greece - fire

Anyone play any good retro style games lately? I really liked WH40K Boltgun and Dread Delusion and wanna find more like them.
If you like Metroidvanias you should take a look at Axiom Verge.

Great recommendations.

Another one I’d recommend if you’re into Pokémon style battles, another quick to get into option you might enjoy is Super Auto Pets on mobile or desktop. Rounds are quick and the concept is simple but the strategies and RNG keep it interesting.

Hi there Lucid.

Well, we have the second season of aharen-san. I haven't seen it yet but I liked katainaka no ossan manga. Teogonia seems interesting.
