Actually, no. Couldn't take birth control for medical reasons I can't recall and was allergic to latex. Sooooooo...

Sad to be allergic to latex.
There remains the medieval method: pig intestine...

I used to work for/with NGOs that investigate war crimes, so over time I had to learn how to separate my empathy from my emotional response - especially when it comes to things I have no control over. If I didn’t, it would’ve been impossible to do that kind of work without completely burning out.

Maybe that carries over into how I consume media, too. It’s not that I don’t care about suffering, real or fictional - it’s just that my brain automatically puts up a kind of emotional barrier when I know I have little to no agency over a situation. That probably plays a big role in why dark themes don’t hit me as hard as they do for others.

As for the Lost Life. You recall it quite well! Weirdly, I would put it above The (Lost) Guardian on the that scale. I just don't find consequence to be impactful, you are basically restarted on first day. Maybe if there was more content it would change my perception...

And good morning to you too!

Make sure they use good gin and DOM Benedictine is essential. Better yet, book a flight to Singapore and try one in Raffles Hotel ;)

Hi Kitty! What a wonderful surprise, was not expecting you til Wednesday

Morning Tleilax, glad you are safe. Enjoy your cuppa and the backread!
That's hard. I was in Rwanda working for a documentary more than 10 years after the genocide, and it was extremely hard on me, talking with survivors and perpetrators. I can't imagine what would be to face this situations on a daily basis.

Nice try, FBI

Coffee is good. Filter cofee? I like Turkish coffee. Have you tried it before? I may offer you

Maybe CIA, you may never know :)
I have a turkish friend and he once made me turkish coffee. Usually I'm a expresso guy, but damm, it was delicious.

Also, for your information, I live far, far away from the USA.

I dated a girl that looked like a Playboy Playmate, when I was 19. They looked like sisters, nearly identical, their name was also very similar, one syllable difference, and 2 letters. My College Roommate had her poster up, she saw the poster, and got pissed when I mistook their names. She's a total bitch, and we only dated about 2 months. Sex was great, it usually is with women like her, but not long-term relationship material.
What was the name of the game?

:ROFLMAO: Just kidding, of course. I don't have any reason to mistrust you, and I thought it is a funny answer. Nothing more.

My dad. He passed a few years ago and I'd love to have one last glass of scotch with him and tell him that I'm doing ok.
-hugs-

I'd hope that's a never ending glass :)

Same here. When you are young, you think of cool people, writers, movie directors, artists... then the day arrives, when you realise what is truly important in life. And by then, is usually too late.

I hate bullies :(
Same. I was constantly the victim of them 1st through 12th grade. Those sort generally didn't go to college and that wasn't something that was tolerated there.

Good morning people. I'm in a good mood. After spending the late night trying to get some good AI renders and not getting it quiet right, I started fresh this morning and hit pay dirty. Like just insanely hot outputs. Can't wait to post the images in a hour or so. (continuation of the goth stuff).

Damn Kaity, this is a hard one. I was a history student and there are so many people I would just want to talk to, learn why they did what they did.

Grigori Rasputin would have been a wild person to have a drink with. Knowing his reputation it would have been A LOT of drinks though.

Aleister Crowley would also have been a very interesting person to talk to. Along similar lines I'd love to have a drink with Gerald Gardner.

But I have to agree with others. My uncles, one passed a couple years back and the other when I was very young. They also didn't live nearby so we didn't get a lot of time to be together.

I've heard the name Rasputin but the only thing that comes to mind is him being mentioned in an Animaniacs cartoon.
I bet family will be a big answer for todays question.

Well, aside from the wonderful people I have met here, I'd have to say my great-grandfather.

Never met the man, he was long gone by the time I was born but he fought during WW2.

He was born in Calabria, Italy. Fought on what most will call the wrong side of the war, took a German girl as his wife and fled to the US.

I would have liked to meet them both, but especially him. He's the catalyst for nearly everything my family is, at least on my father's side, and knowing so little about him has always frustrated me.

Imagining sitting at a bar with him, enjoying a few drinks and chatting in Italian is a warm thought, Kitten. Thank you.

But my dad, one last drink of anything, just to tell him, I'm fine, and I of course still miss him.

Rasputin was a mystic who got close to Russian royalty and gained a lot of power through that connection. He's pretty well known for surviving several execution/assassination attempts making some people believe he actually did have magic powers. And he's the villain of the animated movie Anastasia. I'm surprised you haven't seen it if you're old enough to have watched Animaniacs.

If you are even half as wonderful as he was, I'd say you're more than living up to his memory, Slum.

I know I'm not the only one here that sees how good a person you clearly are.

Based solely on what I've seen, he'd have to be an angel to live up to the precedent you set and no, I am not exaggerating.

Arguably one of the better non-Disney Animated movies in the 90's, and Anastasia is pretty much considered a Disney Princess, since they acquired 20th Century Fox. Plus, the voice cast and songs are excellent, especially the Liz Calloway stuff and the ending song by Donna Lewis and Richard Marx. I mentioned before that I love Don Bluth movies, it's ranked in my Top 3 of his films, might even be Number 1.

but what would be the best frequency range to feel?

That's a good question, will need more time to think about it.

Too many good options I have thought about across the years, I don't know what to answer. Can I say a younger version of myself? (fortunately my dear people are still alive)

He was the best!
And I don't think, I even reach him there, but that's how it is with people you look/looked up to, never quite think yourself, that you're on their level. :p
