On that note, I recently learned that absinthe is illegal on the u.s. and I don't know why.

Do you need to code for the game you want to make? a lot of people are happy just using renpy (I know you use code with renpy but is minimal if you just want an avn) depending on the kind of game you want to make there are different languages or engines you could look in order to make your task easier.

for absinthe, it's because of dumb superstition: it was believed to drive people mad (duhh alcohol is a bad for your brain, nothing new) and to cause blindness (like any alcohol poorly adulterated).

And yes, for the game's development, I wouldn't need to code if I didn't want to, but learning is the goal. The final result (whether I release it on LC or not) is secondary.
