Suddenly, Seymour! Loved the movie as a kid! I was born around the time The Little Mermaid released, I had access to all those Alan Menken Disney movies, and the excellent 70's, 80's, & 90's Musicals.

Good morning/afternoon guys, hope you had a nice and relaxing saturday.

I was literally called and grilled/asked if I knew where a very specific key was, one that is always placed in the same location, and one that people use every single day to functionally get anything done when they're at that Office. By a person whose job it is to be there everyday. I haven't been there in about 2 weeks. He called right after I had only slept about 2 hours.

I usually only sleep 4-5 hours a day, with the once a month exception being today, this day, when I sleep 8-10. I'm a very light sleeper, and it usually takes mental exhaustion to go to sleep. So, I'm feeling especially cranky, and it's because of someone, who is one of the only co-workers that I can actually say I disdain. Fuck that guy, stupid key losing asshole...

Vent over.

Only 5 hours? geez dude, i can't function without my 7-8 hours of sleep.
Also fuck that guy, waking me up because your useless ass can't find a fucking key? fuck off.

Yeah, force of habit I never broke from my College years, and frequent Flying. Double Majors, gunning for 20 credit semesters. It really did a number on me.

Unless you are as me contractually obliged to be on-call during days off. I may be grumpy that my weekend is ruined this time but I get the good allowance to compensate for that. Lets me get a month off once a year to completely separate from work life on the other end of the world.

Every time I return to office after the month it does look like that though:

Unless you are as me contractually obliged to be on-call during days off. I may be grumpy that my weekend is ruined this time but I get the good allowance to compensate for that. Lets me get a month off once a year to completely separate from work life on the other end of the world.

Yeah, contractually obligated, I'm a Location Scout, with Executive Production responsibilities. So, I need to answer or call back within 30 minutes, even if the person is a dipshit that annoys the hell out of me. My entire life is centered mostly around Budgets, both Personally and Professionally. Losing people money never goes over well.

I feel you! I work in Health and Safety in energy sector, so lots of people working on a weekend. Incidents are bound to happen from time to time. While minor accidents can be addressed on Monday, sometimes I need to get up and start running things on the day off. The only leeway is official vacation time when other region can cover my sector. And unfortunately they don't do a very good job...

Ugh, I feel this. Last time I took a week off I came back to this.

Its like they burn the HSE binder the first minute I put on the OoO auto-reply. Total mayhem on return.

I was one of the operations managers for a building (research lab) for a while. It used to infuriate me when they would call me on a weekend (invariably at night) because an alarm went off. It was ALWAYS just a spurious alarm -- (meaningless) I was number three on the call out list and I knew the other two guys were dodging the calls. So I had to decide what did I want more? -- an extra few hours of sleep - or the call out pay. If I went in I would literally have to just hit an "acknowledged" button and leave.
