Don't a lot of different kinds of male octopus die after mating once, because the process of detaching the arm kills them?

The male Argonaut octopus regrows its detachable penis-arm after each mating session.

Since males don’t live very long and only exist to mate, nature gave them this wild trick to ensure reproduction while keeping them safe from potential predators (like the much larger female). Imagine just yeeting your arm at someone and calling it a day—then growing another one for the next time!
