Dogs are your companions, cats your masters.
For that reason as a wise person I always choose dogs.

Dogs. I've had and still have dogs all my life.

Cat's, I like when I don't own them. I coukd never really enjoy owning a cat, they just aren't for me.

Plus I have my birds, my dog gets along with my birds easily, never an issue. With cats, I'd never be sure.

Dogs, mainly because you can train them to be of use to you in many ways, but also because you can socialize and take them outside wherever. Plus it's good on the exercise part, since both of you and the dog have to go outside.

On the other hand you don't HAVE to take/let cats outside. Especially good when it's cold, raining, etc. You also don't have to train them to not piss/shit on the floor. Cats will naturally use a litterbox. Some people train them to use the toilet, though it's bad enough waiting for someone to get out, imagine having to wait until the cat is done. Plus when they look like "how the fuck am I supposed to bury this here?"

Dogs were bred as tools whereas cats kind of just tagged along for long enough to become part of the furniture. Many dog breeds are abominations after what we did to them. Only a few cats have been contorted in a similar way.
I have personally met too many ill mannered dogs so cats take it for me

Cat's never try to hump peoples' legs or sniff their groins, don't make loud noise when people come to the door, etc. Lots of people with dogs let them be obnoxious fucks. Never been annoyed because someone's cat down the street wouldn't shut the fuck up.
