Good day, Bonk! How are you doin'?

Very true, there is a good reason why there is so many towns in USA called La Fayette. Marquis de la Fayette was a french noble that fought on the USA side with a group of french volunteers. Later, France give money and guns to the americans. Finally, they signed a formal alliance treaty and send an expeditionary corps commanded by Count of Rochambeau. The french support is generally considered decisive by historians to explain the victory.

For the french, it was also a way to avenge their defeat against Britain in the Seven years war, that result in the loss of many of their americans colonies.

Nice -- This stuff I knew -- but I can tell you from experience that a good way to get into an argument in certain parts of the states is to even mention that without French support and distraction that England would probably have thumped our ass.

And something else I haven't thought of in years, we owe a ton to the native Americans first teaching the guerilla warfare, while the English marched in columns allowing easy hit and run tactics.

Good Morning and happy Saturday fellow denizens of Lewdland! Probably just going to do some shopping, napping, drinking and chilling today -- but starting it off with coffee and backreading here

Do people realy like coffee for breakfast, or is just a thing to make you awake for the day?
It depends on how it is presented -- but yes I always like it.

Doing my bit to help @Sarya educate Lewdites. On this day in history --- The first ever expedition to reach the Geographic South Pole was led by the Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen. He and four other crew members made it to the geographical south pole on 14 December 1911, which would prove to be five weeks ahead of the competitive British party led by Robert Falcon Scott as part of the Terra Nova Expedition. Amundsen and his team returned safely to their base, and about a year later heard that Scott and his four companions had perished on their return journey. The sucker had everyone convinced that he was going to the North Pole because he was worried about being beat.

On the topic of exploration, interesting cartography fact. Some paper map companies will have a small, intentional, inaccuracy. This is done so that they can tell if another company stole their work.

Not as well as things could be, had to replace a car battery and spend a couple hundred bucks more than desired.
