Very true, I will say the few games that have succeeded seem to be some of the most popular on sites like these. Definitely a risk/reward play by devs, but the amount of time and dedication it takes to implement it properly is daunting and can lead to a solid game often being abandoned; Or worse milked by devs who pretend they are working hard, Looking at you Summertime Saga.
