I wonder if the problems I experienced earlier with the MHW beta has something to do with the sheer amount of players enjoying it. I kept on loosing connection with the game servers.

Sounds like the servers are getting overloaded then.

On a more serious note, I wonder if this will mark the end of Bioware or, better, what's left of it.

Probably not going to take it down with Mass Effect in development. The player count numbers are okayish enough to make this not a total bomb. Though if reviews remain in the realm of where they are, unlikely they are going to be able capitalize on things like DLC to make this profitable.
