Yeah, it's a sandbox game, and I honestly can't say anything about the grinding, because I just continue my save when a new version comes out, and there I have all the money and stuff I need for the new things to happen.

To be honest, it isn't even the money/stats grind that I don't like, since it can be easily dealt with Ren'Py script editing, but most games like this it's awful finding out what the fuck you have to do to advance on the routes.
Some games are alright, but I've played some that I couldn't for the love of God progress without reading some step-by-step guide.

If we are in the suggestion games part of this discussion, i advise people to play "To train up a companion". I don't think this game is on here yet, it originates on the site that shouldn't be named. It's a text game where you can do lot of stuff to lolis, others people and even some animals (seduction, kidnapping, training, lot of different sexual practices that are realistic or fantasist...).

It's actively developed, there is new stuff almost every day.

I don't know about that. I think the ones that are there now aren't opposed to lifting the ban, but not politician wants to be know as "the guy who fought for porn" or something like that.

More games need to focus on making the core loop enjoyable before expanding content.

to me the biggest issue is that the majority of sanbox games would be better off just being VN's since the "sandbox" is clicking around to see next event. and even most of those with stats tend to fall in similar trap. Being sandbox for the sake of sandbox rather than utilising it. Combine that when dull mini games are forced into it and that is a great way to chase me away

100% this! Clicking on different spots on the screen feels infinitely more frustrating than just click wherever to progress a kinetic novel.
If the sandbox feels bad, then don't fucking add it!

Those critics are valid but the game is getting better on this point, in my opinion.

That isn't a problem, at least for me it isn't.
Most events have a trigger at the door where the girls live, or else they'll naturally come up as you move around the hotel.

The good thing of a "open-world" style of game would be the non-linear gameplay, with you choosing what to do and when to do, but most games have you progress on multiples routes at the same time at specifis orders, not having any variation for what you've or not, some even contradicting because the scene should've been played on another time and the dev forget to add/change the conditions.
Most sandbox games are just normal VN with extra, confusing and annoying steps.

One could argue that they started going to the extreme specifically because of the censoring, bur I don't care. I really wish we could have uncensored JAV now.

Before we switched buildings, it were really common to not have internet some times. Once we stayed offline for the whole week.
It probably were old cables or something. The whole building was old as hell, and I dom't think there were much maintenance...
Since we went from a new building, it still happens some times, but not even close as before.
