discussion Lots of Tags, Good or Bad?

Tags are great when they are correct. Would be nice to know though if a tag was heavily in the story or light use or one scene.

Tags are just supposed to give a heads up about the what the game has to offer. I'm a butt guy myself and I would be pretty sad to see my "anal sex" tag become "non-vaginal" and get drowned in games with handjobs/buttjobs/titsjobs, etc. Tags should represent the type of kink people are into.

Like others side it depends I dont need a game tag for every little thing just the main ones and the tags of anything not vanilla so others can stand clear and find what they want

I have the suspicion that many game dev think more tags means more players. I think more tags means less satisfied players. Keep it focused.

More tags implies more content generally tough I don't really pay mind to the tags outside of making sure there is an animated tag

I think the question of having many or few tags is not that important. Because many games that have few tags are usually because the dev didn't include all the ones that represent their games (from what I noticed). Now what each tag represents, that's another story.Basically, there is a huge diversity of tastes, and combinations of different tags I believe to be very interesting. Don't always get stuck in the same thing, diversify.

The only bad aspect of many tags is accidently overlooking a nogo tag in the mass.

I prefer specificity when searching for games. If many adjacent but different things have to be covered by the same tag, then the tag doesn't help me find what I am looking for. For instance, if I am looking for incest, I don't want step family. Hell, I barely want cousins. For that reason I prefer if there is tags that have sub tags, or completely separate tags that mean specific things.

Less is usually better in my book, a game with a ton of tags is usually trying to do too much.

That's a big thing - everyone has tags they like, but just about everyone also has "absolutely not" tags. The more tags, the more people will have ones they like, but then the more people will have "absolutely not" ones - so unless they look AND it's made clear the latter are avoidable, but trying to get more people liking it, it will instead draw fewer people.

I prefer games with simple stories and compelling content. I usually stick with games with only a handful of tags, incest, pregnancy, etc. But many games here and on other sites have a whole paragraph of tags, listing all of the various and sundry kinks and fetishes that are included.

Do you guys like games with a variety of different tags, or do you prefer to keep things simple?

I only use tags to figure out question I have about a game that aren't obvious from the first look: male or female protagonist, setting, so on.

More tags is usually better 'cause more info makes it easier to make an informed choice. At the same time sometimes is difficult to know how present is a tag in a game compared to others. There's a lot of harem games that have tags that are only relevant to maybe one girl of the roster. Sometimes just tags are not enough.
