3 Years of Service
So many of these people who are afraid of what AI can do can barely figure out how to send an email, yet they sit in the legislatures...
pleaded guilty to 14 charges related to child abuse material, stalking and revenge porn, including controlling an electronic server of child abuse, aggravated use of a carriage service for child abuse, making available child abuse material, multiple counts of possessing child abuse, accessing child abuse material and dealing in money believed to be the proceeds of crime.
He also pleaded guilty to two counts of installing an optical surveillance device and intent to distribute intimate image of another person.
Indeed, he was to appear for sentencing, but there's no record of him being sentenced (no records of any further court appearances or his actual sentence). Not going to link any articles because rules but he accepted a plea deal in May and was supposedly sentenced at the end of August
WTF is a "carriage service?" Makes me thing of those horse & carriage ride things like they have in NYC, but that wouldn't make sense.
Indeed. It is strange that there seems to be no record of the sentencing. Perhaps the crimes were deemed not serious enough and he got off with a completely out of court settlement (e.g. a hefty fine)? In some countries it can work like that, but I don't know about Australia or other Commonwealth countries.Indeed, he was to appear for sentencing, but there's no record of him being sentenced (no records of any further court appearances or his actual sentence).
He was given a date to appear for sentencing, yet there's no record on the court website saying that he appeared and what sentence was given.
Even if in his plea he was given the option to remain anonymous, there would still be a court record (just with an altered name).
Can't see that. Australia treats things with pixels the same as if it was with real "lolis""Carriage service" means post (e.g. letters etc.) but I assume that includes modern communication methods.

To be fair, the charges he faces are not only because of Proud Father. But also because of stalking and revenge porn, as well as "two counts of installing an optical surveillance device and intent to distribute intimate image of another person".
So Westy is not just a "poor guy" who was charged for making a game, but also because he is a scumbag.
Well since games = RL in AUS, maybe those charges were related to a game he had on his PC.
(there's games where you put spy cams in your home and sell the content online to make money)
Stalking could be from a game and revenge porn could be from a blackmail route in a game.
In the US, the Supreme Court previously ruled that artificially made are protected by the 1st amendment, but if made by AI that might be a different ballgame.i did not know the dev went to prison for making this game! thats complete bullshit its just a damn game. i cant say america would be any different either im sure if they saw someone was making a game like this they would try to put them in prison too hopefully the judges would see the ignorance in doin so. like these arent real people everything is so fake up to even the plot like this is not based in reality at all its just fiction i dont understand how you can just ruin someones life for this. sure if he had real child porn then thats different but for a game makes no sense
I don't think it would be different, unless they outlaw all loli AI under fear of it being trained with the real deal, which is actually a serious concern and I have no doubt in my mind it's happening. In the US, the Supreme Court previously ruled that artificially made are protected by the 1st amendment, but if made by AI that might be a different ballgame.
Of course, IMO, using AI is worthless if it isn't realistic looking.I don't think it would be different, unless they outlaw all loli AI under fear of it being trained with the real deal, which is actually a serious concern and I have no doubt in my mind it's happening.
if we could guarantee it use only art to generate new art, it would be basically the same logic, but I doubt they would differentiate since it's probably very hard to know
From the firm of Crocodile, Dundee, and Mate.I kinda wish we had an Australian lawyer here on the forum....
Damn you, now I want to watch those movies again! From the firm of Crocodile, Dundee, and Mate.
well, it's a tool much like 3D animation is an easier way to do animation than actually drawing everything frame by frame. To this day I would say hand drawn animation are better than 3D but we know that big studios don't ever use hand drawn anymore, and also the public for some god forsaken reason prefer 3D animations while thinking hand drawn is childish.Of course, IMO, using AI is worthless if it isn't realistic looking.
From what I understand in the US you can still go to court on an obscenity charge. But it is extremely rare. Unless you are doing photorealistic shit with A.I they don't really care. Otherwise all the sites that host loli content would've been shut down by now.In the US, the Supreme Court previously ruled that artificially made are protected by the 1st amendment, but if made by AI that might be a different ballgame.
