Do you take porn games seriously?

A bit of both some game are just pure porn and some are just greatly written and porn is just secondary to it. Though I prefer a greatly written story than a porn with great renders.

I don't take them that seriously. Many start out with strange premises to begin with.

Only if the writing is good. If I'm not invested in the characters, then if the renders are good I don't really care what happens because I'm going to fast forward to the "good" bits.

Best to never take anything porn related seriously, just enjoy the ride get off and move on

Personally I'm having hard time understanding how personally invested some people are with all the tags and happenings in these games. Like being really angry about changing tags or "possible" offensive happenings. The continuous flame wars of personally invested people who have no problems fucking their mother but are triggered about "their" girls getting it on with anyone but the MC. TBH there was a moment I was almost triggered about the silly big tits and hips in this one game, but then I uninstalled it and downloaded something else and forgot all about it. ;)
Basically in the words of someone way wiser than me: "I'm just here for the (nasty) sex".
That's part of why I made this question, sometimes I go check for updates in some games and people are going wild complaining about tags, update frequency or how the creator made some minor change into the character appearance and now the game is ruined, and I don't really get how they get so invested in a game that is made for fapping.

I take them seriously in that I know they take a lot of work and talent to make a good game.
I don't take them seriously content-wise any more than I'd take any porn seriously.

I do look for certain tags that I either like, or don't like. So I take the responsibility of proper tagging seriously. But if someone makes a game with tags I don't like, I just think "That's not for me." and move on.

I can't simply because porn has given an entire generation of young people an unrealistic and unhealthy idea of how quickly a plumber will come to your house.

I can get personally invested in a game with good writing, like Leap of Faith or the plethora of amazing JP VN. I appreciate a good story, a slow burn, et cetera. That said, if the games premise is mostly about getting laid, rather than relationship building and overall plot, I don't have a huge problem with that either. I just generally prefer a little substance, rather than just clicking or mashing enter to get to the next sex scene.

Personally, I do not take them seriously, but im aware that people do. People take all kind of things seriously, especially if they have personal or economical investment on them (they paid a patreon etc). I can get behind a plot that is nice, and actually got to read all the dialogue an pay attention to small details. Funnily, for me it happens more often in parody/comedy games than in "serious" ones

Yes and no. There have been a few I have followed through the years, but most of them either end up dying before they get to the good parts, dev over promises on features and gameplay, etc. and doesn't deliver. Or the dev decides to do a total rework when the game is about halfway finished. After getting hyped up and let down so many times, I've learned to curb my expectations.

depending on the game i can take them just as seriously as any "normal" game

If I have said no, I wouldn't have dropped games simply for distasteful genres like NTR or scat.

The game genre itself? Yes (that's why I voted "yes"). The stories and the content are fiction and should be seen as this.

Do you take movies seriously?
Do you take comics seriously?
Do you take video games seriously?
Do you take "insert hobby X" seriously?

Stupid questions to be honest.

AVNs aren't necessarily porn games.
That's where your mistake is.
Most of them are stories with sex in it but aren't "porn games". Not every AVN is a nukige.
That's like saying GoT is soft porn.

I don't take any type of game seriously... just games. Same with movies or TV shows... just entertainment. If I don't like something I just try and find something else I do like.
As far as porn games, I will comment on some games here and there... just my opinion normally. I think it is ok to let the developer know if you don't like something (and why).

But if I see a tag I don't like. "Female Protagonist", or "Sandbox" or "RPGM" I will normally not even click on the game.

just games, try to be calm and find what you like.
peace.
