Nonononononononononononononono................. Stargate > Star Trek > Star Wars

Always been star wars for me although I enjoy star trek too. With the recent flooding of all the star wars shows it's dampened my enthusiasm for the francise recently though

I like Star wars for a long time the ones before disney bought it, and i don't watch star trek and have not been into it.

both are in a horrid state, but Star Wars truly has hit rock bottom. It can't even cut it as a streaming television show, when it once was a mighty film franchise. Lucas gave Disney a golden goose, which they cooked with Last Jedi. It has been in freefall since, the Acolyte is only the least of what they have done.

I think Star Wars sucks, it became to woke, I wait more than 30 years after seeing return of the jedi in the cinema's to see Luke, Han and Lea back in action, and they made a fucking joke of them. Not even giving them 1 scene together.
I liked Rogue one and the mandalorian series when still played in it. But the rest is mostly modern crap.
.
It's a bit like Marvel, they made a few films building up different characters, made us fall in 'love' with them, and then joined them, creating the best ark ever on television. After end game, they got some woke actors, who only could write stories with strong female, male hating and LGBT and other woke shit. And just like I thought, all those movies tanked, they lost almost a billion dollars on them. They seem to have fired all those screen writers, but it will take a while before we get some new good stories.
.
So now to the star trek series, I have to say I like the ones the last few years, I even some how like the anime series, discovery was borderline with some woke and LGBT shit. But at least it was better than teenwolf, where ever fucking episode you had to see 2 guys french kissing.
.
So in the end I think I have had a lot more fun watching Star Trek TV series, than watching a few Star Wars films. I would suggest that living in a star trek age is more fun, than living in a star wars world. Mainly when you don't have any force powers....

I agree Luke should have been Luke, and they should have reunited Mark, Carrie and Harrison. Their characters being failures so some upstart kids can save the galaxy is the bs the new Ghostbusters did when the old guys were worthless and saved by kids. Like how in Dial of Destiny Indy was dragged along by Phoebe Waller but had no agency, she even saved his life by punching him out and reunited him with Marion saving his marriage. Dude couldn't do anything on his own.

As to politics I'm staying out of that.

I tried to get into Star Trek, but it's a bit too old. Maybe if I watched it when I was younger, like I did with Star Wars.

Star Wars content on the other hand, I love it. Kinda getting bored with the new shows tho, seems like they're trying to squeeze the star wars lore a bit too much

Even though star wars has had a rough time lately I am still a star wars fan.

I'm not a fan anymore but I don't begrudge them making a kids movie Mando and Grogu. Or Skeleton Crew show, it's just not for original fans. I mean it is almost a half century old franchise at some point they have to create new fans. People old enough to see the original during its 1977 release aren't gonna be around forever.

I don't gatekeep people but i do know young members of my family have already aged out of Disney SW, they won't look fondly back in 40 years wistfully like I do over the OT, with a twinge of nostalgia for a more golden and more simple time, a time of innocence in my life.

I very much identify with Bilbo Baggins in the Hobbit being old and set in his ways, just not the attitude of the upper class of extreme wealth, I'm very much the common man. But I no longer seek adventure or want to see what is over the hill or over the horizon. I no longer yearn like Luke Skywalker.

I was under the impression that both franchises were dead but I'll vote Star Wars since there's some decent fanfiction still floating around these days. That's the world we live in. Current Star Wars fanfiction is better than current modern Star Wars.

I always liked Star Wars, never got into the trek.
Disney has become a bit Too "Woke" and I can't support that B.S.
So no more Star Wars or Dudes wearing princess costumes confusing innocent children.
Just LC games for me now...

In the past I would have answered Star Trek, now my answer is none of the above. Both franchises have really spiraled down imo, also I have much less desire and free time to just watch movies/tv shows compared to my youth.

I like both franchises, but like the early Star Wars better and the later Star Trek better.

It was Star Wars > Star Trek
and then Disney got involved.
Now its Star Trek > Star Wars

Woke = anything right-wingers don't like. :rolleyes:

Anyway, I like both, but would much rather live in Star Trek (24+ century). I would never come out of the holodeck. :ROFLMAO:
