What would a dev have to do in a new update to make you stop playing a really good game?

In my case there isn't much that would drive me away from a well established title. I am more open minded than most and lack the moral double standards of many here. If I had to pick something, it would be how a dev takes a title in a direction that is contrary to the established story line. This has happened in the past and it drives me crazy when a dev can't stay consistent with a story.

Oh, one big thing as going back and redoing the game from the start. To me, that's the same as abandoning it and starting a new one. At the very least finish it first then try to redo. A lot of times they do it more than once and/or end up abandoning it.

Endless pointless Grinding.
Yeah i dig that. I actually know a lot of games that ruined their appeal for me because i had to grind for coins or stats all the time. Especially infuriating if the game starts out well end then ends up basicly wasting your time. 😒

when a dev kills a Li, im out.
i hate "acting lessons" for that.
Wow, yea. I literally stopped at that decision and never went back to the game.

I'd agree with most of the posts I've read through.
1) Major changes to the tags that introduce things I don't like (Rape, Violence, NTR, Futa)
2) Up-aging the Li if the original age was a selling point (visually or contextually)
3) Bait and switch on the Li
4) Forcing a reply from the start too often. I'll do it a few times, but it gets really tedious.

Taking too long to update can also cause me to just lose interest.

Change of art of characters, spreading story too thin
That was one I did. Female protag, College something. Went from relatively realistic to cartoony. Deleted it, and it also made old saves not work. Was eventually abandoned IIRC.

Add "rework" to the dev notes. Hard to love is an example that used to be Easy to love a game that looked forward to every update. Then they "reworked" it. Now development is stalled and the game is worse because of it.

Therapy (that just did an update) all he had to do is give massive boob jobs too all the toons one at a time.

Adding alot of grind to the game or change the story into bad orriducules way. Adding tags that i regular avoid like: ntr, gay, trans... and don´t have a choice system addad where i can vote of these new tags.

It always sucks when they don't have their shit straight from the start and change stuff - especially requiring a restart.

Happy summer used to look promising until the dev started adding new characters. Could have focused on 1-2 characters and create a short game then instead of adding new characters, create new stories in the same universe.

Lose focus....... Happens alot. A story starts off great but somewhere down the line the writer forgets what he is doing......

How about WVM - Braindrip kept added more when people told him stop, including ones whose names were just colors. Total contrarian.

If the Dev(s) decide to use AI rendering all of a sudden, that's when i stop playing it - smash it into the Trash bin and put it on my Ignore and never think about it ever again.
