Where do you all get your gifs from?

It depends on who you ask, but....

• Some I use google or various gif sites for, giphy, tenor, etc.
• I have plenty of my favorites saved on my computer that I use.
• I use video recording and editing software to make plenty of my own that I'll custom cut and splice together with my own text.
• The custom stuff is edited on some online sites, using faces of our regulars. We have a thread that has faces for plenty of regulars on here (Share your Heads)

OK, I'm going to reveal my secrets. This is my normal process:

1. I start with a base gif, it could be recorded by me or taken from online.
2. I visit

   1. I'll do any converting from video, webp, etc to gif if I need to.
   2. If I'm just adding static text, I add it there and export.
   3. If I'm plannning to use faces or move text with an object, I'll add a 20px solid border to an unoptimized gif (I use a 200px border if I'll be doing lots of work with large or near the edge images later).
3. I take the url of the image on EZ Gif and I visit
   You must be registered to see links
   and work on a gif from that URL.
   1. With this tool, I add images, text, and transparency layers that are animated. (You will need practice to learn to do this well.)
   2. Once I'm done, I'll export from here.
4. I go back to
   You must be registered to see links
   with the image I downloaded from
   1. I crop the image to remove the solid border.
   2. I do any extra clean up, either lowering resolution, trimming, converting to webp, etc. here
5. I save my image locally with a useful name.
   1. This is very important. Images on those sites aren't stored there long, so you need a local copy.
