Well I don't really care about all of that on a personal level, is more of a general dissatisfaction with the way some "Products" are being handled today, but that's more of a personal point of view.

What I'm really against is that they try to make us like something, and if we don't then we're are homophobic or whatever, take for example what you said about the little mermaid, why do they made the mermaid black?, and I'm talking about a logical and justifiable reason about it, as the original book was based on a white woman with red hair, made by a Danish autor on a country that doesn't normally have black people being born on it, if the wanted to make movie about a black mermaid why the didn't made a new movie not related to the little mermaid?.

That said, even I got the point. A lot of stories were told when there was a predominance of old, cis, het, white males as characters, with young, cis, het, white, females at supporting characters. Now, they're just changing demographics for financial reasons. It's always the $. No more. No less.

If the mighty God (DOLLAR) said 1950s dance numbers with an all white cast brought in the dough... that's what we'd be getting.
Either way, though, fuck both sides for telling me what to think, say or do... and using 1984 as a how-to-book.

Until they make a series of movies and TV shows about MY chosen demographic: MURDERHOBOS as PROTAGONISTS in a POSITIVE LIGHT... I couldn't care less either way.

Just switched phone companies and I feel like Verizon sent all the campaigns my number and told them to start sending everything.
I used to get 2-5 per week. Now I'm getting at least 2 per day.

Really? I haven't received a single campaign call. I wonder if that's because I put my number on the federal no call list that was offered a long time ago. Although I know my parents put their numbers on it and my mom says she receives automated calls from one of our senators. She had dealings with his office in the past so I figured she received them because she was on some kind of constituent info list.

That said -if I can try for a redemption shot- I concur with you. Definitely watch the LOTR Extended Trilogy!! I might enjoy reading 30 pages on Ents singing the names of animals, but if you don't those movies are a great way to go

But since I love cartoons so much, just think about... The Best of 1978!

game got shit loads of action and 3 stages of optional prego sex. which is rare, but nice. all you need is time manipulation to make it bit easier tho not really necessary

The Hobbit I read it before watching the movies, but both were kinda meh. However I know that Hobbit is very different from LotR, so I wanted to experience it. Watching the movies first is winning. Hahaha

Also, I always thought of the Ents as cowardly or stupid in the books. They were ass-kickers in the movies.

That movie was like a fever dream. I watched it coming down from a mushroom trip and would not recommend anyone do the same.

It's getting to the point that I might stop my streaming subscriptions and go back to TV. It's getting ridiculous with the exclusive content now that all the channels have made their own streaming service, and taken their shows off of the original services.

Here in Brazil we do have a no call list, but companies don't care about it and the authorities don't do shit.

I don't believe he was the first to write high fantasy or to world build. The Worm Ouroboros predated him by a good amount. But I don't thank anyone took it to that extent. And it's still hard to come close. I feel like authors like Terry Brooks, Martin, Jordan all try and have created great things, but Tolkien's still up there. We never had Orcs before him and I feel like that's a D&D staple to be sure.

But even more than that, the stories and songs and poems about older heroes that they sing in the LOTR actual refer back to an actual, mostly coherent history that he created. Also, when he had characters speak in another language, they weren't just made up words or phrases, he actually created real languages for his characters to use. Doesn't mean that we have to enjoy his style if we like fantasy any more than we have to enjoy the Godfather if we like mob movies, but he was really one of the greats for fantasy. Like Heinlein for science fiction.

Same here about unrecognized numbers but I haven't received one of those in over a month. It's completely ridiculous that people are inundated with political phone calls and text messages, to me that's equivalent to harassment. I just saw that not 20 minutes ago from a developer I follow on Discord. Of course, I also just saw where a number of big developers just got their Patreon accounts under review. The Patreon team went on the other major site we know and found the fan made incest patch and used that to freeze their Patreon. Ironically, the developer doesn't even post on that other site but he's getting hit for a fan patch. Admittedly, I'm certain he designed his game to be patched in that way, but still!

These days I'm receiving less of them, but I now have more than a hundred different numbers in my blocklist...
Sometimes (like 0.01% of the times) it's a call that I want to answer, so I answer them all to be safe...
Unfortunately there are still companies that contact you solely by phone rather than e-mail.
