Not quite that descriptive, but it will take a couple of lines to describe a type of tree found only in the Elven Kingdom of Lothlorien, and similar types of things.

The books are a medium level read for a decently educated English speaker, so you can get through all three in a week or so if you read a couple hours a night. It helps to know a few of the differences between "British" English (Tolkien's English) and American English, if American English is what you know.

One amusing part of my reread: after having seen the movies so many times, I was able to put the voices of the actors to the various characters and use the actors when envisioning the characters in the book. If you would like to be able to do that, watch first, then read. The books have more story to them than the movies, and have additional characters playing important roles that aren't in the movies; likewise, some of the characters in the movies play a greater role than in the books.

While I think that everyone that is a fan of Tolkien from one direction or the other should both read the books and watch the LotR movies, I'm torn on what direction one should go. I normally suggest books first, but, in this case, movies first wouldn't be a bad way to go, especially since you already have them.
If I read them, it will be in my native language. I've read books in english and had no problem, but Tolkien is both british and old, so I think it would be pretty difficult for me.
And the downloaded movies are long gone, it was on the same time as I read Hobbit. But some clicks and it's on my HD again. Hahaha

If your gonna be here for the long haul better to do it asap. After a while it's
tougher for us to let go......Trust me, this was proved recently *cough cough*
@Underlord
You got to let go bonky

Yeah gushing over magical girls. It's a .com but I use the app option. No, no need to sign up unless you want to create a watch list. It's all free tho
Why wouldn't we gush over Magical Girls?
I'm going to have to check this out, apparently. Add it to the "list". :ROFLMAO:
Not sure it's been over 25 years since i've been back there. The apartment
i had was in "Borden Place "
That's still pretty cool. I love things with morbid and macabre histories... :devilish:
Just need a unique name. Try Poopchute
I don't know why I found this so funny. Leave it to you to bring it back to asses... :ROFLMAO:
It's definitely helicopter.
I don't remember the movie that Arnold told everyone to run towards a penis.
Twins probably.
THAT was his maid. :ROFLMAO:
I felt that same way after Episode 1, then hyped for Episode 2, then after 3 again.
Force Awakens got me excited, and after Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker I want to hit JJ Abrams in the head with a hammer.
I haven't seen any of the series on Disney+ yet, but I will look at them with the same eyes as the Marvel stuff: with curiosity and hope.
Don't forget that dog-shit Rogue One...
I tried. It was hard to fit in with that crowd, though.
I was in JROTC at the same time :S
So a conforming non-conforming conformist? :ROFLMAO:
There's a biology lesson or two to be learned in the game!
Well, some in the game, some in your pants.

Science GIFs - Find & Share on GIPHY
Please... I've made so many "drain babies" the Water Company sends me Father's Day Cards. :ROFLMAO:
Hmm... I thought that where some of @Bloodheart's came from, as well?
I'll just upload those and further bog down the LC server, then. :D
I might be guessing, but I think he DL's them first and then shares them. A lot of them have the same generic "Download" file name when you right click on them- so it's not a direct link.

Oh, and your "gearbox" was kinda the same thing. No way to highlight, copy, or click. :(

and then Conzi "splooshed" me over the top into P4. AND here I am?
But @conzibald is supposed to be the owner of holes, CAUSING splooshes, not doing the splooshing...

Is that something he does often to people?

Any other other series I would say read it first. But I can't stand how Tolkien writes,so my vote goes the the extended trilogy on this one.
I'll opine here too. If you don't like Tolkien's style (I do, but everyone is different and that's a wonderful thing :) ) I would skip the extended trilogy in favor of the 1977 cartoon. The cartoon is somehow less confusing and in some way more mature than the Hobbit trilogy, I believe. And if you want something different, there's a bunch of audio dramatizations done by the BBC and others that I think you can still find for free on youtube.

I wanna be stuffed then mailed to a random politician.
My most excellent Flaming1, in that case, I hereby bequeath to you my 1898 Volume of the Art of Taxidermy. May it serve you well in all your stuffing endeavors.... except for those stuffing endeavors that involve stuffing penises into various orifices. For those endeavors, please message me for my lightly used copy of the Kama Sutra.

The full version (also better quality) and some of his other animations can be found here:

Here is his official rule34video page which contains a couple more but all of them are cut (uncut is for patreon/subscribestar, or found above in the sankaku link):

I hope to Hell he has some kind of earplugs.
When I was in SCA I was hit in the head while wearing a sugarloaf helm with a bamboo bo staff wrapped in foam and it STILL made the inside of that thing ring like my head was in a Bell Tower during Christmas Mass. :ROFLMAO:
For myself, I think I've figured out a different way to say it:

I no longer love Star Wars.
I no longer hate Star Wars.
It's just... there.

I'll watch it if I've caught up with what I usually watch. Or if my game(s) is at a good stopping point and I want something else to do.
But it's neither the event, nor the disgust that certain kinds of entertainment brought out of me.
It's now "Nothin' to do. Well... guess I'll watch some new Star Wars content or somethin'."
At this point. Star Wars simply is. You're right. It's that thin line that separates Yin from Yang. :ROFLMAO:
