It's been reported in the UK that Disney are considering pulling out of their Dr Who deal. I guess it may not have been as lucrative as they projected.

As a non-American, non-British, I can't comment on the co-operation.
Plus, as per prior posts of mine, I'm not a fan of 2005+ Dr. Who. That includes 2023.

For other Whovians, do you feel the 2023 series is "par" from 2005 era? Better? Worse? Still British? Too Americanized? Something else?

As bad as they were on many (most?) aspects, I miss the 1963-1989 Doctor Whos.

Eh, most of the ones I sold are waaaay out of my price range to buy back AND if I sold them before- why buy them again. There are some set, some comics, some toys that I will have melted down and buried with me. So I guess as long as you keep the things you really want- it's better than nothing. well, for me, I don't miss 99% thinks I sold or give away. Just moved on. Yeah, i agree. Especially here. it is a problem because most parent have full time job, work many hours and sadly the kid is basically grows up with limit mom dad time. It sucks at times for the kids.

I haven't built a tower in years, so my knowledge would point towards IDE controllers on the motherboard or the drive (don't even know if they still use IDE controllers) or maybe if it's USB try a different port and see if that does anything.

Yeah, i was talk about the control arm circuit board on the HDD, but I couldn't remember the terms lol. IDE??? Yeah, maybe this is ancient tech that no one here will use, unless on very old pc.

Actually a really good book, thinking about it, was "Resurrection Man". He had a one super power, but if he died he'd come back with a different one (and not always better).
There was an issue of "Hitman" where he just kept shooting the poor batstard over and over until he came up with a superpower that he needed him to use.

I don't mind a long movie at all, actually. I think if it's going to to be 3 hours or more, I would want an intermission in the theater, but I watch everything in home, so no worries there.
What I didn't like was Justice League. Then, they added an hour to the runtime and acted like it was a completely different movie. Sure, there were new parts and new characters. But, it was the same drivel after it all the edits.

I wasn't in the room, but the rumors were that it was Leto's Joker. He decided to act like that. And being a method actor, he decided that before filming began and during the whole shoot.
He even said they edited and cut every scene he was in. The director (I think) said they removed 40 minutes from the beginning of the movie, so maybe that's where all the Joker stuff was. There was even a 'Snyder-Cut' type of online push for an extended version, and the director said it's not happening.
IMO Leto was a bad Joker and did a bad job.

I don't know. Again, Ledger's Joker is STILL the gold Standard at this point...but sooner or later someone is going to play him.
I think if Leto had an actual part in the movie- he could've done something with it. It was an interesting take on an iconic character- you need more than just 15 seconds worth of screen time... they were focused on Harley Quinn and her origin and story. Who knows?

Kevin Conroy deserved better than to have the Suicide Squad game be his last Batman.

No clicking. It was doing just fine, and then ten minutes later it wasn't.

When I got the new laptop last year, it only had one USB-A port and a couple of USB-C, so I got a docking strip and a multiport USB-A dock to plug into it (since the strip only had two and very short cord). I'd leave the multiport on the table with my externals plugged into it, then have the longer cord of that plugged into the strip. This gave me some mobility to leave the drives on a table, and use the laptop on the sofa if I wanted to. Every once in a while, a drive would not be reading (had game, porn, personal and work drives), but would read fine if I switched ports, or plugged direct into the docking strip. This didn't work this time, so now I'm wondering how a drive, sitting on a table, not moving, can get corrupted. The house gets warm, but not THAT warm, and the table is under a fan. It's a mystery...

Maybe it was just how it is. I had couple HDD do that. Just stopped work. If you use is as external this usually don't effect it. Just sounds like its time was to end sadly. Its really annoying to get an HDD that does this. I have one still ful of rar game mods and personal images that died for no reason that I know, and still it is with aa friend to be one day fixed... If it can be. Sometimes the data is just stuck and things are lost forever, which is why in my case I should always get backup, but we live and we are learn always. Apart from my suggestion I don't know what else. Sadly, in most case, the cost to get data off is expensive and even in the repair store palace maybe you spend so much money for nothing. I don't know much about them. Only what I seen on Youtube how to change platters and so on, but I never tried it and you need exact same HDD model or it wont work. I hope you can manage some way. Maybe other option is try on different device or different port, but sounds like it is just stopped work properly. Often this is the control arm circuit board. They just RIP often, especially if its older model. You can actually buy online and try replace if you want.
