I'm not sure my answer will be correct, but as this story is based on an existing work. Lirius probably wanted his VN to resemble the original work as closely as possible.

I would have liked to ask you how, but I have to say that if it is already impossible for you to achieve this for your own game, it would certainly be a pointless endeavor.
Because as I am now explaining (for the third time in this thread), it has to do with how the avatar side images for the multiple sayscreen have to be entered in a dict.
If you know a solution for this, we can talk further on lirius discord! Otherwise, I don't answer redundant questions anymore.

Just Google "renpy side images and changable character names" and look at the first answer? I haven't tried it myself but I'm not a fan of side images

I really found something under the frase that I didn't know yet.
And believe me, it's not like I haven't spent DAYS trying around and asking in the RenPy Discord ... I'm not sure either, but you may have given me an idea...
However, the thing is that the assignment via the dictionary is really something special. I also already had some help from lemmasoft.renai.us. That it is assigned in this way is due to the combination of: Multiple Sayscreen & "complex names" such as "XYZ {size=-15}(thinking){/size}".
I'm currently working on finishing Black and White V.02, but I'll get back to it after that!
But can't promise anything

Is anyone else having issues with the h and s keys when playing the game?

I had to lookup what H and S do ... but they seem to work just fine here.
Don't see a usecase for either button though (middle mouse also hides text), and rpatool will extract every image from a game, so why make screenshots (or use your OS's screenshot function)
Pressing 's' did make a screenshot here, and then crashed shortly after

Yes, thank you first of all for your positive review!
We both invest a lot of time in our projects and are of course always very happy when the results generate positive feedback.
And yes, I would be happy to have the support of a native English speaker. At least for proofreading.


The thing is that these "animations" in my opinion add a certain dynamic to the game. But, I get your point.
I personally find it annoying when you even have to click away every "scene separator black screen" in AVN's.
But I hope - and at least for me it is usually the case - that you can get used to the "rhythm" of the game.

Speaking of rhythm, thanks for the feedback on the music selection, yes, I also invest a disproportionately large amount of time in finding suitable tracks. For me, music also plays a big part in the atmosphere of a game. (Even if I know that many people immediately turn it off completely )

So, thanks for your feedback and you can be sure that even if I don't reply to every comment/suggestion, I read them all.

That is kind of what I meant by doing it right. I agree that periods in between can get boring fast. There has to be something keeping you entertained.
