I'm talking about this site in general. I don't find "meme" culture funny.

But it's not all memes! You know yourself that there's some discussions on here.
And within that, there's also few slices of humour. Whether it's memes, banter, wordplay, puns, satire, dark humour, sarcasm, irony, parody, self-deprecation, or observational comedy, the forum is a melting pot of diverse comedic styles.

If anything gets remotely political the mods shut it down which is odd because anything could be taken as "political". This site's existence is political in that certain groups want to criminalize all X rated content. There's also the loli consideration which whilst hidden exists still. It's on the internet so governments want control of it. etc etc.

Comedy is only as good as its presenters regardless of the format and style if it's simply not funny it's not funny.

So, your critique is less about the comedy itself, and more about the people on the thread?

The type of comedy here may try to distinguish itself as a specific genre, but it always boils down to Person X posts picture with text and Person Y posts picture with text, Person X responds with picture with text.

I don't care for political comedy actually. I'd prefer my entertainment to not have a political agenda which is part of the reason why I'm as against the woke agenda in the entertainment industries as I am. It creates poor products that sacrifice substance to serve the agenda and it's usually extreme left wing. Look at what they did with The Boys season 4. It was always leaning that way and included numerous gender swaps for no reason other than "representation", but they went full mask off with season 4.

It's both really, the attempts at humor and the people who attempt it.

In the post you originally replied to, I was literally saying that there is more than just 'meme' culture comedy. For you to say it ALL boils down to it, completely disregards my point. There are plenty of times I've laughed out loud to a statement that didn't include a picture.

Again, to clarify, I'm not saying you're wrong for disliking Meme comedy, that's fine. But it's disingenous to say that's ALL there is here.

I'm not going to go into the "Woke Agenda" conversation because it's totally round in circles - You and I both know where we stand on that.
But I really am curious if these people who say "I prefer entertainment to not have a political agenda" can name some Movies/TV Shows/Games that don't have at least some form of politics.

Just quoting this part to say - I haven't actually seen Season 4, since I've heard it isn't very good. Honestly, I've enjoyed the seasons less as they've gone on. It feels like they just keep attempting for shock value more than having a decent plot. And that only gets you so far.

Genuine question, not meant in any malicious way - If you don't find the forum funny, and you think quite lowly of all of us here, why do you frequent so often?
I mean, the first discussion you and I ever had was you entering the forum and suggesting it was all garbage. Yet, something brings you back?

As I said earlier, everything can be taken politically so when I say not to have a political agenda I mean it shouldn't be in your face as the entire point detracting from the media itself. I enjoyed The Boys originally as I said it was always left leaning, but season 4 they took it too far that's an example.

It's more that the director said screw it, interjected his full on politics into the show and drawing comparisons. He even went too far for the side of the aisle that agrees with him generally which you can look that up on your own time.

Boredom, pure boredom. It doesn't take long to check into the forum to see if there's entertainment to be had that day when I check to see if there is anything in the "Latest Updates" anyway. I only check in if I don't have anything better to do or get a notification which sometimes I don't bother checking when I get a notification either because it usually a reaction and I don't care about the LC farm grift.
