Ah, boardgames is a little different.
I have a collection of almost 200 Board Games. And, when it comes to hosting a game night, that's my job. So, it's also my job to learn the rules and explain the rules well.
The thing is, I wouldn't have it any other way. My ADHD makes it almost impossible for me to listen to someone else explaining the rules. Most people just aren't good communicators of rules, so I NEED to understand them my own way. So, I have to look into them, make sure I've covered everything.
For the record though, I never assumed YOU were a Goblin, I thought you were more... a Purveyor of Goblins
Or should I say... a PERVeyor!
Are you talking about "in this thread" or are you talking about "in life in general"?
The first is understandable, the latter is a little upsetting to be honest.
And, last but not least,

honestly, I don't know what to do with the OG thread, everybody is telling me to keep it in P4 to avoid having to clean it, but I'd still need to delete the realistic AI and... Idk, I miss having 7k pages

Story Time: I fairly obsessively read the rules before playing a board game or card game.
Some players only learn by doing a "trial run", moving the pieces, reading the boards spaces or cards. I learn NOTHING from that.
To be fair, some people learn NOTHING from a pamphlet of rules reading from page 1.
One day, someone broke out a game called "Jok R Rummy". My cousin insisted "It's self explanatory, man. It's self explanatory! Don't delay us all by reading!!"
So, I didn't read it. I was the first player. I shuffled then pulled out an objective card:
It was a sun with a happy face in it.
I flipped the table while they were all laughing and I never played the game again. I'd flipped the table exactly twice in my life before that, both were when I was a kid. That's putting it in context.
For those that are interested, there's like, I dunno, 2 huge decks of objective cards. I learned later that there's ONE maybe TWO cards in all of it that's the happy face sun which means = You WIN your objective this round, no cards necessary. Too late. Didn't care. NEVER played any game without reading the rules since then.
