legit my first thought when i saw it and animated movie would be so much better or even a series, or hear me out wild concept IT JUST DIDN'T EXIST PERIOD

I think it could have been a decent movie if it was treated right, but the reason why video game movies have such a bad reputation is that they either don't play out like the game, they're relying too much on the fans of the game that the production quality is garbage, or both. It's not that certain games couldn't make a legitimately decent movie and Borderlands has a spaghetti western vibe to it as is.
