That's the point. As long as no real people are represented there should be no problem (for the time being).

All of the current arrest reports are based on individuals using images of real people to transform them into what we all know.

Notice that those images were created usually with LEGAL source images, to create ILLEGAL outputs. AI is incidental here, you could create the same sort of outputs e.g. with photoshop (and people have done it, and have been penalized for it).

Yes, ofc. AI is not the problem, it's the illegal use of it.

That is a scary thought, but what gives me a tiny bit of hope in this regards is that younger generations seem to be more watchful and aware of internet fakeries than older generations. Well... at least, I hope that's true. I come across enough comments under videos saying "This is staged," or "Not real, edited" or whatever that it seems right. Haven't seriously looked into that, though. I'm just speculating.

And while younger generations are certainly vulnerable, they don't have $-money-$... which is a big part of why older generations are squarely in the crosshairs of scammers.

Regulations will come, but i don't think the main reason isn't even because of porn or scammers, that is just the excuse they will give to forbid people from using it, just the same way they do with gun control and it doesn't work anywhere in the world, criminals will still use it and they have no way of preventing it, the main reason why they will regulate is have monopoly on the use of it for political gain, they are losing control over information very fast and AI generated images can easily fool many people in a short amount of time, besides they can use the law to pressure companies that want to use AI to favor them, and big techs allied with politicians can also use it to gain control over the market that uses AI.
