I do prefer games with male MCs, but I also don't shy away from female MCs.

I'm open to it in a Kinetic Novel, but in a game with choices playing as a female MC really messes with me. I don't feel like I'm playing "as" them the same way I do a male MC, instead I'm more like a voice on their shoulder. Usually trying to "help them out" and make safe/boring choices.

One exception to this is Good Girl Gone Bad, simply because the writing is good enough to make me want to see very route. I guess that's like removing choices from the game though.
