I believe the situation has been escalated due to a misunderstanding when information from both sides was not fully understood. If the leaks were posted in the comments, this is an issue that should be noted and addressed with a unified approach from the dev team and management since it "could" be a loophole in the rules and pose future risks as we are witnessing. As I mentioned, this is a misunderstanding and no one is to blame as the information provided by both sides was not clearly understood but only presented to counter each other's arguments.
The game developer has the final say on their game and management supports this and has rules in place to protect the interests of all parties involved, except for those who intentionally violate the rules and cause misunderstandings between the two sides. These rule-breakers should be the focus of our efforts to find a solution and unite both parties and others. This is a necessary development as laws are also amended over time to "adapt".
Unfortunately, the situation has taken the turn of amplifying the misunderstanding (I am not criticizing the perspectives of the parties that led to this situation as no one is to blame for misunderstandings, but only stating the direction the discussion has taken). In the end, the ones who suffer emotionally and in reputation are the dev team and management, while the rule-breakers sit back and watch the two sides, adding fuel to the fire as personal attacks are directed at the parties involved, leading to rifts. I have encountered trolls who only smile when their targets are hurt and fall, even if it brings down unrelated parties, as long as their targets are brought down. I am just a player active on the platforms and I always support any decisions that need to be made for development, so when I see misunderstandings being initiated by leakers, it is hard to stay calm.
I hope that a consensus can be reached on a calm and reasonable solution for both parties. I support any decision made, even the most difficult ones. IInstead of continuing to debate who is to blame for the misunderstanding, it would be better to have internal discussions first before more "personal opinions" are expressed in the comments, which could prolong the heat that should be cooled down.

Still one of the best smol games on the site but I have to say it's better to wait for a few updates before replaying,

Just got back after a few days away, open up LC and get surprised to see a new SSP update. I eagerly start the download, while I wait I start catching up on what I missed in the thread.

But I hope the Ketzal and the Mods can come to terms and are able to learn something from this.
I will now wait for public release, mostly out of respect for Ketzal. But, I also rather played the finished update.
I also hope that the main leaker/leakers from now on until the end of time. Always manage to shot them self in the eye whenever they masturbate.

This is by far my favorite game on any site by any developer....hands down. I got really excited to see an update ..then I read the last few pages of chat.
Sounds like a misunderstanding that will be hopefully resolved going forward.
Ketzal I commend your calm demeanor and read no anger (justifiable frustration) in ANY of your posts.
I'm Happy you will be releasing the Public version and will gladly wait for that finished product.

I thought Haily was a year younger than Leana? Maybe I'm misremembering.
I sometimes wait a couple updates on some games too, it can give you a bigger batch of content. For devs that have big updates you get a lot of content and for devs who do smaller updates you get a decent bit, so it never feels like you spent time downloading only to be done quickly.
Though I usually download the public release version of this when it comes out since he usually has a good amount of content with each update and there is such a lack of smol games without other stuff I hate in them getting in the way.

As for the leaked stuff, it certainly sounds like several miscommunications added up. It happens. Once it's leaked elsewhere then every day that goes by where LC doesn't have it people are just going to the other site and that is costing them engagement and site visits which is costing the site add revenue and such. A mod sent a DM expecting a conversation if the dev wanted to appeal or see if it could still be delayed, but the dev read it as a statement of fact that it was happening period and thought, "well shit, okay I guess." Sucks when miscommunications happen, but I think everyone can work it out.

This game is a total trip, and I am liking it. Only thing I personally can say about this that is a negative could also be just nitpicking, but having the past time at the same time as the present, kinda leaves to two cliffhangers here.

I find it hard to believe, that is obviously so difficult to agree on, that there has been a misunderstanding of the meaning of "thumbs up".
Maybe a better rule was, not to leak games, which have a public version, at all. I mean, leaking an alpha versions usually doesn't make anybody happy.

Ketzal, if I may be honest with you here. I know how immensely frustrating it must be to have effectively your work taken and published, nullifying one of the perks you give out. It sucks, it's unfair.
However not every person is like that. There is the saying of "If tree falls in a forest but nobody is there to hear it, did it truly fall?"
This saying applies to any digital creation. Forums like LC and fallen are one of few places where you can share your media and actually get people supporting you for it. Over time, you do expand one by one the amount of people supporting you. Hell, there are people who support you thanks to forums which posted your work.
Throwing away potential platform and means for communication is just going to hurt you more than anything else.
If anything, push more for people to support you.
One thing I learned during my life is that people will buy anything if you market it well enough. If they see it, they'll buy it. More so when in a market there's a demand. And frankly? You and Seath Black are pretty much on top of the food chain when it comes to high quality VNs. As both of you know what your fans want to see and embrace it.
So I'd kindly really ask you to consider sticking around these forums as not everyone bites the hand that feeds them. Combined with fact that forums like LC are rare mediums that help boost the support for games like this.

Although on the other hand, the Commodore64 looks obsolete, like an ancient junk. Perhaps as a symbol of antiquity, he approached better. Because the IBM PC even the old one still looks more modern. Such a paradox.

By the way, I do not know what will happen if in the dialogue with the Cassie in the dining room (Haley is still in it), choose the option that the Cassie will like. This is an option that will allow Cassie to be in the office often ... I do not know if the answer affects this choice on the possibility of visiting the house of Rebecca or not. But such an opportunity seems possible to me ... To know for sure it is necessary to watch and analyze variables.
