Once in a Lifetime and Eternum from Caribdis. I think he's the GOAT. Acting Lessons and Being a DIK by Dr Pinkcake. They have a very good story and characters but Being a Dik has a confusing point system and horrible sandbox mode and minigames. Acting Lessons is must have if you like comedy romance and drama.

LOL. It's a bitch of a puzzle. Here's the solution, but honestly, take a decent whack at it with this in mind: The solution to the hint isn't found in the game. You don't need eagle eyes to spot some hidden clue. Just google.
-"16 Horses 14 is a banger." "16 Horses" is a song by the band Soul Coughing, which is featured on the soundtrack for the 1997 film * X-Files: Fight the Future *. The album has 14 songs, and the 14th song is a banger because it has 10 minutes of silence and then a hidden track. This is supposed to cue you into the long ass empty space at the end of the VN.
-For good boys only If you play through the game taking the good path for both Steph and Emmie at the end of that blank space, you'll find the secret scene with two more questions that are somewhat self-explanatory if you actually found the X-Files album.
-"One is lonely?" The first track on the X-Files album is a cover of "One" by the band Filter.
-If loving you is asin. Not a typo. ASIN stands for Amazon Standard Identification Number. For the X-Files soundtrack, it's B000006OAQ.

Well, tastes differ. But for me at least it was just filled with hours of incredibly dull writing and dialogue that never felt like it was actually progressing to anything interesting (and I mean anything interesting, not just sex scenes).
It also apparently had a really bad sandbox element added at some point. I say "apparently" because I'd given up on it after several hours of clicking through the MC getting the most basic (and utterly uninteresting) introduction to a half dozen forgettable love interests. I have no idea if the sandbox was already there at that point, or if was added later.
TLDR it has 114 reviews on a certain other site and is hovering at slightly over 2 stars, and it earned that.

That was my experience as well. It keeps going on and on with nothing ever really happening. I gave up on it a long time ago.
On the other hand: That New Teacher, and Little Green Hill might fit what OP is looking for

Since they cannot be called games, they are closer to literature, if only comics in electronic format, as they are, can be considered literature.
Alas, I have not met any successful projects. It is the literary component that suffers. In general, in my hierarchy, they occupy a place next to fanfics.
