Star Trek for me. The last several SW just sucked
Disney Star Wars is so bad its like anti Star Wars or not Star Wars at all. It made me lose all of my respect for JJ Abrams and i honestly think other than some of his other films and shows i've stopped being a fan. If he was to do something new and original or even fun i would give it a try but i don't trust him. Like if he directed a Superman movie another Star Trek i might watch it, but he doesn't get the canon of SW, its own rules. Wrecked Luke Skywalker.

Star Trek.
Star worse isnt even worth to compete.

Honestly Star Trek has always bored the soul out of me. It's basically a soap opera with aliens

like both Star Wars and Star Trek, but have to lean more towards Star Trek

Star Wars is more a fantasy action than sci-fi so they are two very different genres.
As a kid I really liked SW, now I really like ST. But sadly both franchises were run down by people that do not care for the IP. The state SW is today is something miserable
This is sadly the truth. They have both just been turned into mindless stories pumped out to sell toys.

I finally watched Kenobi, despite being very fanfilm like i liked Obi Wan's relationships with the other characters, especially Leia. I liked him grieving Anakin and realizing Anakin made a choice to be evil, to become Vader. He had to forgive himself. The worst aspect is the inquisitors you could cut them entirely, and just have Vader tracking him with probes or a bounty hunter. Also the lack of Star Warsy music there was none beyond Williams theme for Obi- Wan. The fighting style for the lightsaber duels was wrong and if they wanted it to look OT should have visually followed the style of Rogue One. Design wise it also looked fanfilm from poor choreography, shaky cam/lens flares, to designs that didn't look Star Wars. and Obi-Wan not developing a relationship with Luke is a joke. But i do think Ewan and Hayden were good.

I miss the realism and lived in look of the original, props should look aged, clothing/ sets should look real. Not brand new, the prequel got this wrong and so did the Disney trilogy.

I would say I prefer watching Star Trek for the lessons, morals, and ideas that come with it. But if it is action then it's Star Wars.

I'm a Star Wars fan but I think the original movies of both franchises are the best.

Which franchise do you prefer?

can't really compare the 2 ones science-fiction the other is science-fantasy

KOTOR 1 & 2 are the only 'Star Wars' things I care about.

Star Trek is fine I guess, just space politics and such.

I always refer to this when the question comes up

You must be registered to see media

Star Wars is for kids, Star Trek is for adults.

i'm a fan of the older star wars media (e.g. OT, Sequel, KOTOR 1+2), and only Andor and Rogue One out of the new stuff since disney took over.
would agree with others in that it is more space fantasy/space opera in comparison to Star Trek which is definitely more proper sci-fi with its themes and tech.

i think i'll start getting into star trek now, but i need recommendations on where to start and what to avoid.

however, i feel the need to state that both these franchises will pale in comparison to WARHAMMER 40K!
wait......oh fuck, that got ruined too....

Just wait for how they do in the "REMAKE" which sounds so bad.....

I am a Harlan Ellison fan, so I watched City on the edge of forever, and then I read the original screenplay just to find out he wrote 200k of foreword to badmouth everyone who done him wrong in the fiasco lmao

 Thinking about this I realized that I should mention a BONUS for the Star Trek Side. The BEST Star Trek movie of ALL time is:

Galaxy Quest

With that film there is FUN in Star Trek.

Just a thought.
