what should a new developer do when releasing a part one?

Yeah I agree with what most have said so far. Especially the biting off more than you can chew thing. I recently started working on a game and have been distracted no fewer than a billion times just looking up stuff about Ren'py. Then Python. Then Koikatsu. Then Blender. Then Unity. I ended up with a hundred tabs open and just got lost in the minutiae of making games. It's fun, but it can be easy to lose sight of what you're doing. Just don't be too ambitious at the start to avoid overwhelming yourself.

Jesus... Just make up a plan on what you want. And remember that regardless of what you do, it'll still take hours to get some of it done. <- I'm speaking as a Developer, myself. Lol

I knew I was getting lost in the weeds but it was during the initial stages of deciding which combination of programs suited me best. Most importantly though was that I was actually having fun learning new stuff and that's... rare these days, to say the least.

I would appreciate it if the game displayed its current tags and future planned tags. Then it just comes down to whether or not the content is good.

i don't know much but my preference is focus more on the story part than spamming sex scenes everywhere, makes the game feel more rich imo

Not make it only a proof of concept. As in here is what it looks like, here is the narration here is the primary interest and see ya.
Actually have some meat to it and showcase what the people can expect from the game. This includes Game mechanics if any, LI, Story plot, actual dialogue between characters and some kind of sexual scene with the MC even if it's not with the primary LI.
By having some meat I mean it should take at least 30 min of the actual game, this does not mean 10 min of initial intro then 20 min game play but 30 min of game play after the intro.

As an aside that kind of fit in. Figure out what is absolutely needed for the bask story to start, you can always add on as you go.

I would say give a flavour of what your game is going to be. If it slow-burner with story being the focus you have to nail the introduction of the characters and and intro to the plot. Whereas if your game is going focus on sex, portray how great how sex scenes are/ showcase how hot the ladies are I gu

Many good suggestions here. I would add: Don't let the scope get too big, you will only burn yourself out. Also, keep the cast relatively small, you can always add on later.
Also. When using multiple routes, plan them out ahead of time. Many devs gets confused themselves when too many different routes are in game.
Utilize at least 1 bug tester. No one can catch them all.
Yes, you can come back and add more later, so keep it tight till you have the core.

Be careful with the tags, especially the more disliked ones if you are planing them, if you make a game that people like, and give no warning and out of nowhere add things like NTR, scat etc, it will be way worse for you than if you give warning in advance

Release 0.1 should achieve the following:
1) Establish the premise and main story, if every update has to expand on what the plot is about then you have a story that is milking for time
2) Establish the main characters, if every update introduces yet more characters then you have a game that is adding breadth but not depth of characters
3) Establish expectations for the mood and themes of the game, the game shouldn't start out with one genre and suddenly be another genre a few releases later, nor should it have unexpected storylines or new tags that weren't alluded to in the beginning.

I don't care much about demos for games, especially if they are treated like they are in the porn games area. Just do 0.1 releases without adding "demo" or whatever because the versioning always gets messed up when you have demo, non-demo updates and so on. IF you want to do a demo, you release the Demo and after that 1.0 with a finished product, like it works in the games industry.

Attractive, the mc is not ugly and at least has sex or if not a lot of sex 🤣😅
Well you decide the rest and avoid the ntr most are not cuck

Make sure the game at least has something in there worthwhile and not just laying the groundwork to be expanded upon in future updates.
