I played them all again within the last few years and they were (still) great... IF you can stand adventure games! All of them are on GOG for pretty damn cheap.

baDIK sucks. The free roams are impossible fairly soon without a walkthrough and later on WAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too difficult even with. That sort of free roam should be skippable.

23 sisters. I know some people enjoy comedic writing, but for me, this game is just a bit much and it makes it hard for me to get into it.

There were some of the characters that the voices my mind decided to give them just killed the vibe for me, and I just cant get into the game anymore

The Last Sovereign. Because it makes heavy use of stock RPG maker sprites it looks like a lot of bad games, but its probably my favorite adult game. Great writing and RPG gameplay better than a lot of real RPGs.

'Haley's Story', by ViitGames is one not on the list. It's not on this site though, which is surprising.
'Refuge of Embers' by Escape Sauce is another.

Japanese H-VNs in general. So many of them are way to verbose and narriate basic actions for no reason. In the ones that offer choices, you had better keep a walkthrough open unless you want the anti-climactic bad ending.
When Doki Doki Literature Club started shifting genres, I was a little frustrated because its writing was so much better than the VNs it was mimicking.
