They are really not that quick, so it's not like they were Neo or some Agent from The Matrix. They can keep running at 30mph even on uneven terrain and even with a dozen wounds and alot of blood loss for quite some time though (so a bad idea to mount your Lewis guns on a military vehicle and try to chase them over farmland, old school horses/cavalry would have been better). Some were comparing their tenacity to Zulu warriors (which the British also had trouble with and were unprepared at first when they thought a bunch of savages with primitive weapons would be an easy fight).

I have an aunt in Aus, we visited when we were kids. One person in my family both me and my twinsy hate was our eldest brother.
Emu chased him, he tried to escape over a fence, got himself caught up in it and was stuck upside down until he could be rescued cos no one else in the family would risk the Emu wrath .... besides, most of us had giggles.

I was "the" writer from about.... 30-50% through 0.1. When I came in, 75% of 0.1 was "written" but most of the text didn't match with the renders. "He kicks the thug" but the render shows him punching, or some shit like that, so I took the existing renders, the basic idea of the scene and rewrote most of them. So some of the stuff (like the first school scene, meeting Z, etc) were somewhat left untouched. I might have fixed grammar/spelling/punctuation, but I didn't rewrite those. Starting around the bar fight scene until a month ago, I was the one writing everything. But I was only supposed to be a temp writer. I kept telling him as soon as he could afford a REAL writer with actual skill who could write shit without it being huge paragraphs, he needed to hire them. But the game never made enough money for that to happen.

Lol geez, I didn't know writing a scene and making it actually match the renders was so hard. Ideas and details of an overall story, sure, in fiction sometimes writer's block happens. But given his heart just didn't seem to be in it, renders underpar without someone telling him and pointing it out (and even then saying it's good enough), etc it seems like a miracle it made it to 0.4.

It made it to 0.4 because I kept telling him I would fly to where he lives and behead him if he abandoned it. (seriously, I said that a lot, but he knew I was... mostly joking). But yeah... he had real problems with shit like matching renders to text.
Our big fight (the one where I left) was due to 4-5 different things that were just pure shit.
One example, how he rendered this walking scene (I had to spend like 3 hours with him to get him to fix it)

Then, he started adding text in places where it was not needed. He has done this a LOT, and while it is his game.. I made him promise that If I am writing he doesnt do that shit. It just looks bad. He has promised almost once a month for a year, yet he keeps doing it "You know I have a bad memory, I forgot.". I told him, if you need text added or changed, just tell me what to change. I will change it the right way. In this example, he added text that there was no reason for. Previous render, they were sitting, next they are standing. It did not need to be said that this is "After standing up". Let alone the lack of a period (which he never uses on the lines he adds, one of the easiest ways to see when he added shit).
Before I wrote the warehouse scene, we spent HOURS digging through asset to find a good warehouse. He showed me all sides, etc. Because I needed to know the layout to write the scene. He found one with a set of metal stairs going up the outside to a platform with a door. So the story was written for that. MC went up the stairs, into the door, then down some inside stairs. When he showed me the render, it was a different warehouse. And this one had no stairs. So I told him I would have to rewrite the entire scene. What does he do? "I fixed it. I put some stairs in."
Like his fucking stairs? A fucking ladder. Like.... seriously. You cant make this shit up.
And while I am trying to find and correct all of his fuckups... what is he doing? Designing new characters for some new game he wants to make.
In the story (as I originally wrote it, based on the warehouse he showed me), the MC parks on the street. Then gets out and looks at the warehouse, seeing there are 2 armed guards in front of it. So he sneaks around the side of the warehouse to the back. That is where he finds the stairs to get in. But instead, his renders show him get out of the car. Then walk down these huge concrete stairs and see 2 guards in front of the door. I argued the guards were supposed to be at the front of the warehouse, not the back where MC sneaks in. "It doesnt matter. Its fine." I ask if the MC is secretly a fucking ninja now since he has to sneak behind armed/trained guards into a door that is 3 foot behind them....
Oh, btw, the door wasnt even there. He forgot the door, so I had to help him find one that didnt look completely out of place... like this one.
Also to help explain why I was so pissed about the stairs/ladder... First, If any of you have EVER climbed a ladder, you will look at that render and know that Mac has never climbed one in his life. You would not extend the ladder that much higher than the platform you want to get off on, becasue you would want to climb up over the ladder, not get off the side (and unbalance it, and prob fall to your death). Second.. when you escape the warehouse, you are taking a young girl with you. One who is traumatized, and prob hasnt been fed very well. You expect this young girl to be able to handle that ladder by herself? "Cant he just carry her" was his reply. Sure... MC can just pick her up, and get on this rickety fucking ladder FROM THE SIDE, and climb down with her in his arms. No fucking problem Mac. Piece of cake. "Its fine bro"
Most of the fingering-heather-in-bathroom scene was fucked up. None of the renders matched the text except the first 3-4. He actually rendered them leaving the bathroom after doing it, then going back into it to finish their talk before leaving... like WHY? Why leave the bathroom, then go back in to talk? WHY?
Here, as the text says, you can clearly see his mouth on her nipple. Right?
Walking down the stairs. Maybe they are moonwalking backwards?
And this is the global signal for "shush" right?
Its like he is trying to test if he can cross his eyes.
There were about... 4-5 more things he cut corners on and was going to release, but this reply is already getting long as fuck.

You know, I should have known better. I had to go back and check, but the very first post in this thread other than the OP was me specifically asking if he was going to stick with it longer than his other short games. And then you had to go and build up my hopes so they could later be shattered. So clearly, this is all your fault.

To be fair, when he first messaged me on discord asking me to help him make sure his game was not trash, he spent weeks talking it up, and about how this was his dream. I repeatedly told him that he better not abandon it. And for months, he fed me this "This is my dream. It is what makes me happy. I dont even care about getting paid, I just want to make a game". And I believed him, up until about 2 months ago. Thats when he started bitching more and more each day about how little he was making, about how he "needed a break" and wanted to make other games (lolis dont pay now, I should make a game without lolis), etc. From what I gather looking back, my guess is that it is a cross between the fact that he was prob lying about not caring about the money and him thinking he was a lot better at the rendering than he was. I assumed the fact that he asked me to join the team SPECIFICALLY to talk shit about his renders so he could improve meant that he was serious.You know, I should have known better.
