I usually stay away from news articles because of how over-exaggerating those Fuckers are. but my stupid curiosity get the better of me and now I'm pissed off.

Yeah they are treating it as if actual children were abused. But it's australia so we can really expect much from a country that loses a war to a bunch of birds that can't fly

The dev is a friend of mine and asked me to say the game is officially abandoned and he's deleting all his accounts.
He already deleted the discord profiles and servers. The reason for that is quite obvious.

Unless he lives in a prude country like Aus he's overreacting, but oh well. I would hope that these devs that decide to abandon their games just because 1 dev decided to make a game in a country where you will get crucified for it if caught and then the predictable happens would at least give their assets to some other dev that doesn't scare or overreact so easily and that are willing to continue their AVN.

right now I think the devs are waiting to see how it's gonna play out with Westy. if he walked out of it with no problems then everything will go back to normal. if not, then I'm afraid it's gonna take a while before they master up the courage to continue their projects. ?

Maybe check laws first before making questionable AVNs. If they are shitty like Aus's then go elsewhere to make it (3-4k subs = could have easily afforded an international move, he probably got too comfortable and assumed nothing would ever happen). Do some research, half the world still doesn't care about what you draw or render and sell. Here in the US it's protected speech, and even trying for an obscenity case hardly ever happens anymore as the gov't has lost every time they have tried since 2008.

I'm not claiming I understand his position on the subject, but I respect regardless. Also, giving access to another dev would be problematic.
He could give the assets cookbook and then people could do whatever they wanted to do with the story. It's better than the alternative and, who knows, a legal procedurement.

Sad but true. But from what I've heard on other forums this one was planning to be abandoned anyway (most likely due to the dev doing it for the money and thought it would make him rich by now with not too much effort, if leaked private discord chats between him and one of his former helpers are anything to go by), but the Westy incident was just a convenient scapegoat. It's why I now won't even sub until it makes it to 0.3 (and I would have been suckered with this one after getting abandoned after 0.4).

I have basically everything needed for this game, except the Daz skill, and the want to do it. I had enough content written to probably cover up to 0.7 already, and over the course of a year I have helped with so many of the scenes, I probably have 80% of the daz assets needed. So if someone wanted to carry it on, that could be done, but I would not pass this to someone with no skill, or who would add shit like NTR to it. I would need agreements to the same rules I gave mac:
1: no rape/violence to minors (or to any of the LIs for that matter)
2: no grooming, drugging, tricking the minors (or again, any of the LIs)

well, honestly I'm a Daz novice (ie at best, and probably suck given a 2nd and 3rd opinion), maybe after 6-12 months of practice. Ketzal (Such A Sharp Pain) is the Daz guru imo, but his project keeps him quite busy I imagine (and it does have smol grooming/corruption in it). I'm sure there's plenty of others with the skill as well, but the time or desire might be lacking. Here's to hoping.

Yeah in an insanity land where you get sentenced to a year just for lewd cartoon posession, he's fucked. Production = 15 years, with luck equivalent to winning the lotto it might be suspended with community service and a huge fine. More likely he's off to the can for a few years.

I do things far differently after the vast amount of shady devs and abandoned games. If a game I enjoy is on Steam i'll buy it when it's near completion. If they only have a Patreon i'll sub for a few months near the end.

I know Patreon is more like a tip jar than a store so that is my way of saying "well done, you finished, have some money".

Damn, I've been so out of the loop, too busy trying to gather research for my own project. This is such an eyesore to adult games. I mean, did Westy lure kids into a white van with no windows? Of course not, this is a total exaggeration on the Aussie's part. Makes me glad I love in the US, sure it's not perfect but what place is?

I just hope he's okay, he's a veteran in this community and the only thing he did was created art, key word "Art".

It looks like other Devs are getting spooked and I really hope that's not the case. It's like every time I find something to enjoy it goes away. FML.
