true, most aren't even willing to fight back IME. Literally learn the basics of any legit martial art and you have an edge over most untrained people as long as they aren't like 100 lbs bigger than you lol. When I got into fights throughout my school life I usually ended up choking them and it always ended the fight

Honestly, the worst advice I ever heard for me was "Be yourself". The problem with that comes with the knowledge that the real me, the one everyone's always telling me I should be, is weird and sometimes obnoxious, abrasive and generally blunt and crude, this version of myself will not go over well with 90+% of most people so that advice falls flat every time
