I may not choose pineapple as my go-to pizza topping, but its sweet and juicy flavor can be surprisingly complementary. I just don't get the irrational hatred toward this little fruit on a pizza. If anything, I'd expect anchovies or tuna to get that kind of grilling.
You know the Hawaiian Pizza, originates from Canada by a Greek-born Canadian. It IS bad. Sweet and savory don't belong together. There's a reason Hawaii and Italy are on opposite sides of the planet.
That was the original - just cheese on bread. That's all pizza is - a style of bread with toppings added. It didn't get out of hand until it got over-commercialized, then some idiot Greek dude in Canada decided that it would be a good idea to put citrus and cheese together (always a bad idea) with cured pork loin that they mistakenly call "bacon". If he'd wanted to better represent Hawaii, he'd have used SPAM.What I don't understand is cheese pizza. I'll take pineapple (Hawaiian) over plain cheese any day.
It's Canadian. If you're going to blame someone for that abomination, blame the right people. It's not bad at all. The only thing that slightly makes me reject it is how "American" it feels.
I'm not American, though I have nothing against the USA... It just feels like cultural betrayal in a sense.
Pineapple pizza is Canadian. "American" cheese is also Canadian (or dates back further than that to Switzerland. Don't be slandering America for these sort of abominations. We have our own abominations that we take pride in. Like the aforementioned fried butter on a stick. It's not bad at all. The only thing that slightly makes me reject it is how "American" it feels.

I thought it was "hawaiian". And it feels american to me.It's Canadian. If you're going to blame someone for that abomination, blame the right people.
