Games with high-quality renders & animations are always gonna be rare. As other have mentioned, it takes an uncommon combination of skills, experience, dedication & hardware to pull off. People that have all 4 & want to make a porn game are always going to be quite rare.

If you're assuming one person is working on the whole thing, this is everything that needs to be done:

- Writing (outline and script)
- Base Imaging (DAZ, HS2, KK, etc.)
- Post processing (PhotoShop, Paint.NET, etc.)
- Animation (various programs)
- Coding/Assembly (using Unreal/Ren'py/RPGM/etc.)
- Distribution (sending it out to sites like LC)
- Social Media & Advertisement (Discord, Reddit, Twitter, etc.)

The sheer amount of stuff that has to be Top A+ Level to get to a SSP or other similar game is enormous. Then, add in all the competition and the fact certain genres have a low amount of devs due to laws and such...

Very, very few devs can reach that level in every category. The best thing you can do is lower expectations slightly. Don't mean play stuff that doesn't look good at all, but to just give it a try. Even though I'm not a fan of NTR and I'm not into DAZ characters, I thoroughly enjoyed F Kingdom.

Not to mention, most people don't do this full time, this is just a side hobby. So you take maybe 10-20 hours a week to try and get all this done? At best, the money from projects like this is inconsistent. Being a content creator is a risky gambit from a trying to not starve and having a place to live kinda standpoint (also not being arrested depending on content and your country of origin).

In addition, there's a massive time difference when it comes to quality of images. You want to pump out 200 images? Are you gonna spend 10 minutes on each one or 1+ hours? You want quality like Ketzal you are very much looking at the latter numbers. So just one update the difference is 2000 minutes (33 hours) versus 12,000 minutes (200 hours). And that's just on daz posing and postwork.

It takes years to get good at this stuff, I wasn't happy with the quality of my renders until maybe a 1-1.5 years of doing it nearly everyday for 3-4 hours a day (thanks covid).

So not only is the $$$ investment high, between hardware and daz products (and if you pirate shit while making money from games with pirated content, you're a cunt), the time investment is astronomical.

I'm actually on the side of story over graphics, myself. Both are important, but if the story isn't there it just doesn't hold my interest at which point the graphics serve no purpose.

Totally agree. There are a few games with great graphics which I couldn't play because of stupid plot, boring characters, poorly written dialogues. Sunset Fairies is one of the examples. The girls are increadibly cute, but everything related to writing is simply horrible.
I couldn't even fap because both my hands were busy with facepalms

SSP is it's own tier atm. I'm looking forward to better renders as soft- and hardware further improves.

However then we wouldn't have the story in SSP. Storytelling is always that special sauce in a VN for me.

I think people should make their own story and make it as unique as they possibly can for their own visions.

We get too many of the same thing, it'd turn out like them balloon tits which are everywhere.

Graphic-wise, though, is a double edged sword. So many laws out there that wants to keep you down just because they "can". This is something we all need to be careful of, nowadays.
