always yes, i like to have control over already limited choices and quite often dev's causality of actions just doesn't make any sense

Any form of walkthrough, I honestly prefer it.
Its good to get a warning that you'll miss content, or colour coding to show different path points you earn from each selection. I dont want to be focusing on not missing out on content, i want to enjoy the story

I usually prefer walkthrough, mostly on sandbox games, I get easily lost in those.

Walkthroughs feels soo important because AVN wants to make a AAA game and wanna be really crazy and sometimes it works but most of the time they just to much like sandbox games where u have to go to this one area at night but can't interact with the door cause u have to speak to 8 different ppl about the damn sky >...> to then get a box of underwear to give it to a small cat in ally to wait 5 days from saturday to get a damn key to open a door in your room to forgetting what you was doing.....

I prefer walkthroughs, though ingame is best, id also take a document if thats the option :)

Big yes. Even more, I like to play peaking at the code! I hate missing content due to some choice I might not understood the intention of the dev.
A bit off-topic, I also hate the forced choices. I like to have the option of discarding a LI I am not interested in, but I hate to be forced to chose between two LI. Most of the time I want them both!

I actually fucked myself once playing DmD years and years ago where I was in the 2nd chapter (or season w/e it is) and somehow ended up with a cursed save that always resulted into a game over (also FUCK game overs in VN's). No way was I going to replay everything. Nowadays I get paranoid and save 500 times, and walkthroughs just help to prevent that shit. Although I still save before every scene (if I like the character atleast) incase the galery will never exist and no1 will mod it in. Some galleries are also fucking horrible where they remove all the text from the scene and just show the animations.. ugh.
Same here. Fun times having around 200 pages worth of saves in the renpy folder.

Walktroughs in games with different pathes are very helpfull. So yes a prefer them.

If the game has straightforward logic, coherent paths or engaging puzzles, I'm happy to go without. But the second the dev breaks out the moon logic, requires out of game knowledge, or God forbid is affected by rng ala Straitened times, walkthroughs become a way of life.

Depends on the game. Mostly I wont but if a game has a lot of branching miss-able content sure so I don't miss anything. If I can keep the whole story choices and all in my head I won't use it.

When playing AVNs, the use of walkthroughs is often necessary but ideally should not be required. In many AVNs, the need for a walkthrough indicates that the game follows a linear, formulaic structure. By relying on walkthroughs, players consume the visual content as a straightforward illustrated book rather than an interactive experience.

While a well-designed AVN should not require walkthroughs, the option to access them should still be provided. Walkthroughs can serve as a helpful resource for players who encounter difficulties or wish to explore alternative paths within the game.

If the game actually branched out with the choices, a walkthrough might have even be a detriment. But for most games its just content or no content. Its almost like they design their games to be played with walkthroughs.

Some games are simply impossible to pass blindly. Examples - Tangled Up, The Foot of the Mountain, Ring of Lust. The saddest thing is that there is no normal text walkthrough for them (those that are available don't always save from softlock, I was able to pass Ring of Lust with a walkthrough only on the fourth try).

Either the game is shit, I don't care about the story, and I'm using a walkthrough to make sure I get the scenes I want, or the game is great, has a fun and engaging story, and I'm using a walkthrough to make sure I don't miss any scenes and get to see all the content. Either way I'm using one.
